The Famagusta region
Southern Cyprus is famous for its warm climate; enjoying 340 days of sunshine a year, making it an all year round destination for holiday makers. Famagusta was once the main port of Cyprus and a popular resort.but after the Turkish invasion in 1974 it became a ghost town. Soon the areas of Ayia Napa and Protaras were redeveloped to make this the leading resort area on the island with lots of hotels, tavernas, discos and bars. The area includes some of the finest beaches in Cyprus as well as Capa Greco and the administrative centre, Paralimni.
Protaras, just 10 minutes from the Villa, is the main beach resort and is famous for its sandy beaches including the famous Fig Tree Bay, the setting for the well-known Bounty advert. It boasts crystal clear waters and endless secluded coves. Watersports, including water-skiing, wind surfing and paragliding are available at Protaras. This is a family orientated resort offering great entertainment, including mini-golf, a sea aquarium and vibrant evening entertainment at Eden Square.
Ayia Napa needs no introduction. If your passion is to dance the night away, then you will be spoiled for choice here from the many lively bars and nightclubs which has made the town famous as a clubbers' Mecca. Nowadays the bustling resort has recovered its reputation as a great place for families: home of Nissi beach (perhaps the most famous of the many sandy beaches); site of the old monastery and the local museum; a picturesque harbour has some excellent fish restaurants and home of WaterWorld - said to be one of the largest water parks in Europe.
Further east from Ayia Napa is the protected nature reserve of Capo Greco, the eastern most point of Cyprus. It's worth a visit for its rugged coastline, peace and tranquillity. hire a bike and explore its many cycleways. It is also a good area for scuba diving.
Paralimni is the largest town in the southern fringe of Cyprus and is now the administrative centre for the Famagusta region. Modern shops and offices stand beside traditional coffee shops and old stores. Relax and soak up the atmosphere in the 'village' square over a coffee and snack. Or indulge in a spot of retail therapy - there is even a Marks & Spencer's!
Kapparis is a quiet, laid back resort with bars, supermarkets, Internet cafes and restaurants a plenty. A number of new shops and restaurants, including a bakery, authentic Italian, 'Miami style' cafe/bar and an 'up-market' Chinese have recently opened. For authentic Greek, Faliros is not to be missed.
The nearest beach to the villa, Firemans Beach, is 200m away and very popular with local Cypriot families. It’s quieter than many others in the area, but big enough to have sun-lounger rental and a kiosk selling cold drinks and hot snacks.
Inside a small zoo a few minutes stroll from Firemans Beach there is a lookout tower from where you can see across the border (buffer zone) into the North. An information centre outlines the history of the divided island.
Unlike Protaras and Ayia Napa, the bars and restaurants of Kapparis stay open all year round. And with sunshine and temperatures still reaching the low 70s in December and January, Kapparis is a perfect destination for your winter break.

"What are you waiting for, book this villa!!!"
Situated on a corner plot, there are few villas overlooking you. Large terracing so plenty of space to enjoy the pool. The pool, although not deep is a decent enough size for lounging around in and great small for small children.
Villa itself is a good looking place.
Once inside, you'll realise its very spacious with every amenity possible. It has a modern feel and the double en-suite would attract most families.
Well worth a visit, especially if your looking for a quiet holiday.

Stayed at Grey Goose Villa during an extended holiday in Cyprus. Ideally located to enjoy the beautiful beaches nearby (Fig Tree, Nissi etc) but very comfortable and clean inside. Specifically located in Kapparis which we liked as we were close to shops, amenities but not as tourist dominated as Protaras. If we visited the island again (which we will) then Grey Goose would be top of our list!

"Total chill out , hassle free holiday in a fantastic villa!"
We stayed Grey Goose villa for two weeks in august , my husband and I and our two daughters ( aged 15 and 7 years) and had a brilliant holiday! The villa is great, lovely and roomy inside and out , the pool and outside area is perfect, great size pool and we loved the side area with table and chairs that most of the day was nice and shady. It's fantastically we'll equipped I honestly can't think of anything else you could possibly want or need! The whole proceedure from booking the villa, paying, airport pick up and any questions we had before we got there and during our stay was completely hassle free.
We didn't hire a car but got a taxi number recommended by Will, and Costas was great , like our personal chauffeur !!
We loved the smaller beach that you turn right out of the villa then right again it was much quieter and seemed to be mostly Cypriot there, a perfect time was around 6.30 - 7pm the sun was just starting to go down just so peaceful for a swim in the clear warm waters! I could go on but will end by saying we are looking for flights for next year and have raved about our lovely holiday to so many of our friends and colleagues .

"Chilled out holiday, can we do it again please?"
The villa was perfect, very well set out and provisioned. Was a bit sad 'cos bbq was brand new and couldn't face cleaning it back to perfection! Was therefore forced to eat out every night at one of the many good eateries close at hand. No hardship there then. Did not find booklet describing villa, appliances and area until 2nd week, but muddled through with few problems.
To get to our preferred beach we turned right, away from village, and next right. Much quieter than Fireman's beach, no sunbeds or kiosk, but good for snorkelling, and toilets there. Swam there early every morning before breakfast - fabulous. 200 metres to the beach is as crow flies; was further to walk.
Slight word to the wise about mini zoo just outside village: the animals are secondary to an exhibition about the Turkish occupation. I just feel that if you were to take young children there, you should be prepared for some quite graphic photos.
The aquarium at the other end of the village is well worth a visit, but can't recommend any of other trips or sights, as did nothing but swim, eat, drink and sleep. Fabulous!

"Super property, well equipped & maintained and great for a quiet holiday"
We needed a base for a family wedding at Aya Napa, but didn't want to be in the town centre - this property gave us a location near enough to be convenient but well removed from the big resort bustle. Equipped with pretty well everything you'd need for full self-catering, but with enough local shops, bars & restaurants within walking distance to make cooking unnecessary. Aircon provided (and necessary even in May), lovely private pool - properly maintained, very pleasant environment to recharge the batteries and avoid the stress. You could just about manage without a car, but I'd advise having one to venture a bit further afield on this lovely island. Very friendly & helpful response from local caretaker whenever we had a query or a problem; very approachable & cooperative owner.

"Lovely villa presented to a high standard- really peaceful but so close to restaurants and beaches- great place to chill"
Best to hire a car but if there is a group of you taxis weren't that expensive. If you just want to chill; read a book; dip in and out of the pool and walk a very short distance to restaurants then this is a great place to be.

"Lovely villa in perfect location"
We have just returned from two very relaxing weeks spent in Grey Goose Villa.
The property was clean and comfortable with everything you would expect to be available. Local shops and restaurants are 5 minutes walk away, we were very pleased with our choice and would definately re-visit.

This was an extremely comfortable stay. The Villa had everything that you could think of to make your stay as homely as possible. The decor was very very tasteful and up market.
The pool and garden was a great place to relax when you no longer wished for sand.
We found hiring a car gave us a lot of freedom but the buses run everywhere and are frequent and air-conditioned.
We would all come and stay again.

"Relaxing holiday in a lovely setting"
The villa was lovely and spotlessly clean. The villa is really well kitted out with everything you need especially with a baby, as the travel cot, kids cutlery and bowls all meant that we didn't have to bring lots of things from home which was a real bonus. As it is situated on a corner plot the garden and pool area benefit from extra space and is quite private.
The location was also great being just 5 minutes from a lovely beach and some really nice restaurants. Also there was an amazing little bakery nearby that I would also recommend trying.
Overall fantastic holiday and a place that I would definitely return to.
