Home description

Sunset Villas is located just two minutes’ walk from the beach, in the well sought-after area of Pernera near Protaras. Quiet and peaceful, yet only a genuine 3-4 minutes walk from a wide variety of bars and restaurants. Ayia Napa and Paralimni are only 10 minutes away by taxi/car.

The villa benefits from its own private pool. There is a spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and living space with beautiful marble floors throughout. It is furnished to a very high standard and has air-conditioning/heating throughout. A patio overlooks the pool and is furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco - I love that!

With one double and one twin bedroom (each fitted with solid wooden furniture, traditional style iron bedsteads and balconies) and two bathrooms, one en suite, plus a downstairs cloakroom, the villa is ideal for families, friends or couples. There is plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay; from lazing on the beach to scuba-diving, horse-riding and waterskiing. If that's not enough then there's a TV and DVD player...

Beat the budget airline baggage restriction: Don't bring lots of clothes, just use the washing machine and iron/ironing board. You'll be amazed at how quickly your clothes dry in the summer.

A new and beautifully designed promenade has just been completed and allows easy-walking., roller-blading etc along the water's edge to nearby Protaras and Blue Bay. Relax on one of the many benches and absorb the tranquility of the med either in the shade or under the stars by night.

The Famagusta District

Famagusta is renowned for its beautiful secluded beaches and sandy bays, plus lively night-life. Paralimni is the main town and is located only 1-2kms away. It is a typically Cypriot town, boasting a variety of shops, restaurants and Cypriot cafes complete with old men sipping coffee and playing tavoli (backgammon). Ayia Napa, famous for its night-life, Europe's largest waterpark and fishing port is approx 10 mins away.

Its fertile red soil, constant breeze and underground water has ensured the area has remain key to Cyprus' important agriculture eg the famous Cyprus potato. They make fantastic chips!!


Protaras / Pernera area

Our villa is situated within walking distance of the Water Park in Protaras, 0.5km from Pernera Bay where you have a variety of water sports including, jet ski, ride on banana, pedalo hire, parasailing, waterskiing.

You can try your hand at crazy golf on the main Protaras road or for those with young children the mini fun parks which has various rides and games. In Ayia Napa there is a huge Amusements/Fairground Park which is suitable for all ages. There are also a number of golf courses planned - pls check web for details.

You can travel by car to the Famagusta View Point and view the "Ghost Town" this can also be done on a boat trip.

Private boat charters and personal boat hire are also available locally.

A PADI dive centre is located with 3 min walk. You can dive the various sites of local nature or arrange a trip to the world famous Zenobia (check it out on the web!).

Other activities: horse riding, motorcycle hire, bicycle hire, fishing, history tours, and even short trips to Israel or Egypt to see the wonders of the pyramids. In short, there is plenty to do here for even the most challenging teenager...


How to get there

The villa is located in the sought after area of Pernera, near Protaras.

At last there are a number of cheap flights available (examples below). Personally, I use www.skyscanner.com and adapt my holiday to get the cheapest flights. Try it!

You can take a taxi or I can arrange pick-up to/from the airport. A taxi costs approx Euro or pickup/collection is Euro. Alternatively, if you want the flexibility of a rental car and wish to explore the beauty and history of the island then I suggest:

Personally, I love the freedom and fun of riding a scooter. I always get mine from George Tsokkos, located a 2 minute walk form the villa. Many a fun day exploring the remote beaches and you do not need a bike licence for the mopeds.

Finished to a high-standard with beautiful hardwood doors in both the kitchen and bedrooms. It has stunning marble floors with all windows dressed with curtains and blinds, with the bedrooms benefiting from blackout-blinds.

The furniture is also of a high standard and beautifully compliments the neutral tones, giving a cool and comfortable Mediterranean feel.

The kitchen has all the mod-cons and offers a full size fridge and freezer.

Further details outdoors:
The private outdoor pool is essential to cool off after relaxing on the loungers in the hot sun, listening to your latest iPod tunes or sharing your tracks with friends via the iPod friendly stereo.

At night, switch the pool lights on and share a meal/few drinks on the patio with family and friends. For couples, what could be more romantic then to sit poolside and share a drink...

Cyprus is renowned for its very hot summers - a swimming pool is essential (I would not rent a villa without one). Don't worry about not being heated, the sun does an incredible job!

Refundable breakages deposit of £200 and Air Conditioning Deposit of £50 per week is required in cheque form dated the first day of your holiday when sending the deposit. Your deposit will be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection and safe return of keys).

Total balance due 6 weeks before your first booked day.

This is strictly a non smoking villa, which also applies to the balconies.

We know from renting ourselves that accidents do happen, in the event of a minor breakage (crockery, etc) please can you let us know so that the item can be replaced for the next occupant. This of course will not affect your deposit.
