The Famagusta region

The long white sandy beaches around the family resort of Protaras, including the famous Fig Tree Bay and the picturesque Connos Bay set in the stunning Cape Greco National Park, are just a short 10 to 15 minute drive or bus ride away, whilst the larger, livelier town of Ayia Napa is only 15 minutes away.
In addition to relaxing by the large private pool or on the beach you can enjoy a whole range of activities including the exhilarating slides at the famous Ayia Napa water park, one of the largest in Europe, catamaran cruises around the coast, scuba diving ( including try-dives for beginners ) , snorkelling in the crystal clear waters and walking or cycling along the beautiful coastal pathways.
Paralimni the administrative capital of the area is just 2 kms inland, offers a more traditional view of Cyprus with beautiful historic squares and churches, lovely bakeries, cafes, restaurants and exclusive shops.
Sailing is offered by the Famagusta District Sailing Club at nearby Ayia Triada next door to Kapparis, Lasers, Catamarans and Windsurfing on offer. You can also crew. www.begafigo.com
Dhekella Sailing Club offers RYA sailing. www.dhekelliasailing .com
Horse riding is available at nearby Moonshine Ranch and there is also tuition and hacking out at Dhekelia Saddle Club 30 kms away on the road to Larnaca.
The Camel Park at Mazotos on the other side of Larnaca is a very popular day out for the kids.
Larnaca is a tradtional Cypriot town about 45 minutes drive, it has a picturesque marina and is good for strolling along the seafront, which has lots of restaurants where you can get great seafood.
The capitol Nicosia is about 70 minute drive away, it has many historic sites of interest, yet the atmosphere is very cosmopolitan it offers stylish cafes and chic boutiques.
The Troodous Mountains are 90 minutes away on the western side of the island, here you will find traditional villages where time stands still, breathtaking scenery, great walking trails, wineries and skiing in winter.
The Protaras / Kapparis area
Kapparis has a good selection of restaurants and traditional tavernas within walking distance from the villa, offering Cypriot, Italian, Chinese and English cuisine. There are also bars, cafes, small shops, a bakery, an internet cafe and supermarket. Some places have pool tables and recreational facilities to keep the children entertained.
The nearest beach to the villa , the lovely Firemans Bay is only a five minute stroll away, Malama Bay is an easy ten minute walk and has its own watersports centre. At the head of the beach is the Malama Hotel which has a pool, bar, shop, restaurant and tennis courts all of which are open to the public. As you wander along the coastal path you will discover a host of secluded bays and coves all with crystal clear waters and breathtaking scenery.
Kapparis is a quieter family resort that stays open all year round ( as opposed to Protaras which turns into a ghost town in the winter ) taking advantage of the 340 days a year sunshine and very mild winters.

A Fantastic fortnight. - July 2009
This villa was exactly as it was descibed on the website. It was modern, luxurious and met our needs exactly. The facilaties in the villa were perfect to enable us to stay in when we wanted to and the location was great in terms of attractions, restuarants, beaches, etc, for if we wanted to go out.
The villa owner provided a very personal and efficient service and was able to sort a few extras for us, such as transfers from the airport, which made our holiday experience so much more relaxing.
Having been to Cyprus before and stayed on the outskirts of Agia Napa, we found the location of this villa so much more peaceful and relaxing and also cooler and less humid as there was a lovely breeze. We rented a car so Agia Napa and Protaras we close enough to visit when we wanted to.
We couldnt belive our luck when we walked into the villa for the first time; we would recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic villa in superb location - August 2009
We"ve just got back from a very relaxing time staying here at this lovely villa, where Deena the owner had thought of everything to make our stay so enjoyable. The villa has everything you could possibly need including great sea views and is located in a very quiet street just five minutes walk away from the main street in Kapparis where we found some great restuarants (Just Italian was a huge hit with our children),bars, bakery and local supermarket, not to mention the small but beautiful beach (Firemans Beach) just at the end of the road .Although a car is not essential we wanted to be able to get about so rented through Auto Europe site which was all straight forward on arriving at Larnaca airport.
Having stayed at hotels in Protaras many times before it made a pleasent change to have our own space and pool to just relax and watch the sun slowly sink into the sea at the end of another beautiful day.A ten minute drive to the centre of Protaras for Fig Tree Bay,for lots of water sports and parasailing and a visit to George Zefkas Beach Bar for lunch, followed by snorkeling out to the Island is an absolute must,we saw a huge variety of fish swimming around us, who needs scuba diving ! Can"t wait to go back soon !

Thanks for a nice holiday - October 2009

Brilliant Relaxing Holiday - October 2009
We had a brilliant holiday.the villa was lovely, fantastic location, well equipped, spotlessly clean, beautifly furnished with amazing panoramic sea views. Deena the owner arranged airport transfers which gave us a stress free start and finish to our holiday. We went for walks most mornings along the coastal footpath passing lots of small coves with crystal clear waters which was very relaxing.
The supermarket, shops. bars and restuarants are just five minutes walk away - Just Italian, Tonys Taverna and Faliros we visited several times and the food was superb.
You can rent a car locally and visit several other resorts all within 15 minutes drive.
We will definitely be returning and would reccommend to anyone without hesitation.

5 STAR VILLA APHRODITE - June 2010
We have just returned from a 10 day holiday at the Villa Aphrodite in Kapparis. We were delighted with how well maintained and clean the villa is. Nice clean pool, good size for our party of 4 adults. Excellent location,5 minutes from Beach and 10 minutes from a good selection of restuarants and supermarket. The kitchen had all the utensils required in fact the owner had thought of everything. The extra touches were very much appreciated, hairdryer, pool extras, bats, balls, pool rings, lilos, etc, DVDs good range for those afternoons for when you want to get out of the sunshine,Cd Player,Air conditioning,Range of books to read if you forgot to pack yours,Black out curtains to ensure a good nights sleep.
Although we did not need to contact them Clare and Frank ( Caretakers ) were there on hand for any emergencies. The visitors book was full of glowing reports and we were happy to add ours to the list.
We were there to attend a wedding and it was the first time my family had all been together for 11 years. The wedding was fabulous and so was the villa . We would highly recommend Villa Aphrodite.

Our Holiday In The Sun - September 2010
We have just returned from a fabulous holiday in sunny Cyprus. The villa was of the highest standard, with an excellent pool and close to the beach. The sea water was lovely and warm with loads of fish swimming with you!! The villa itself had everything you could wish for to eat in or outside. The villa was spotlessly clean and in a vey quiet area (in fact there was noone around us) Excellent for a quiet relaxing holiday. We went to several local bars and restaurants, infact we ran out of nights to try them all. Our favorite was Falirous on the main road. We went to Cyprus to attend a friends wedding and had an excellent time. Deena arranged for aTaxi to pick us at the airport - Phyl and we used him all week to take us around. We wnt to the Aquapark and on a boat trip. All in all we had a wonderful holiday and would recommend to friends, family and to whoever reads this review. We will certainly use it again.

Kapparis - Ort der vielen Möglichkeiten
coco - Switzerland - October 2010
Erholsamer Urlaub.

Villa Aphrodite 5* Perfect - August 2011
Family of 4, 2 adults, 2 children aged 13 / 8.
We have just had a fantastic holiday in Cyprus staying for our first time in Kapparis. Villa Aphrodite is in a peaceful, safe location, close enough to everything. The villa is like home and every room is equipped with everything you could possibly need during your stay. We were amazed at the amount of poolside and beach toys, books and dvd's, kept us very entertained. All of us were in the pool every day. The villa is beautifully furnished and very well maintained by Clare and Frank.
Deena is fantastic, keeps in touch regularly and will do anything she can to ensure your stay is the best it could possibly be. As we were arriving late in the evening, Deena kindly arranged for a welcome pack.. we gave her a little shopping list and when we arrived Clare and Frank had been shopping for us and put the items in the fridge. Very nice arriving to some ice cold water.
During our stay, Frank came to clean the pool and ensure everything was ok, gave us some good advice on places to go, discounts, even where to park the car. Clare and Frank do a wonderful job.
The directions provided were spot on and it took us about an hour to get from the airport, we could possibly have been quicker in daylight in a better car (!) *
* We decided to hire a car from Sixt and picked it up from the airport. The only good thing about the car we were given was the air conditioning which worked throughout our holiday, the car itself was a scratched, dented heap. *
The big supermarket, Orphanides, which we preferred, is about 5-10 minutes drive, the one in the high street has most things and is very handy being just around the corner. We also visited Rossos bakers and highly recommend, everything we had was delicious. The locals are really friendly and spoke very good english.
Protaras is worth visiting, lovely beaches, shops, bars and restuarants, an air conditioned McDonalds is there so the kids were happy and we were all grateful to sit inside and keep cool. We tried out 'Mr Cod', lovely food, and highly recommend his mama's homemade curry which our son is still talking about.
All in all, couldn't have asked for anything more, everything was perfect from the moment we booked, will recommend to all family and friends and would definitely go back to Villa Aphrodite. Cannot thank Deena, Clare and Frank enough.

September Holiday in Kapparis - September 2011.
Well equipped and maintained Villa with pool and seaview in an ideal location with ease of access to and from the airport, offering a hoilday for all, whether it be, night life,a quite evening relaxing by the pool with outside dining or walking to local restaurants, this villa has it all. An excellent pre holiday booking system with contact throughout by the owner providing all the required information needed to allow the holiday to be a holiday and not a worry over what you will find on arrival. The customer service provided at the Villa was not intrusive yet on hand if required with a smile, great local knowledge and advice if asked, this makes a great holiday even better knowing if something goes wrong a helping hand is not more than a phone call away. This is a Villa that I would recommend to all my family and friends. Thank you Deena, we hope we can return.
Emma S .
Great Family Holiday - September 2011.
The Villa aphrodite was just what we were looking for. The villa was very clean and everything had a high standard. It had everything we needed.
We were to familys who shared 3 bedrooms and it was great great to have 3 bathrooms.
We didnt hire a car, because we just wanted to have relaxing beach holidays. The firemans beach was only 5 mins to walk and lovely sandy beach, perfect for the kids and not crowded. There are enough shops and restaurants in Kapparis, only 10 mins to walk.
We went to Aya Napa once on the bus. It only costs 1 euro but uyou have to walk about 20 mins to the bus stop and it takes you 1 hour to get there. Taxis are not to expensive, espescially because they have big limousine Taxis for 7 people. Aya Napa: 25 Euro, Proteras 15 Euro, Paralmni 10 euro.
We had brilliant 2 weeks and are sure to be back.

Perfect close to the ocean - November 2011.
