About the home

Location! Location! Location! There is free Wifi, a free welcome pack and Sky TV at our Buena Vista villa which is located right on the seafront on top of a picturesque bay next to Fig Tree Bay. It is in a quiet area but just a short stroll from Fig Tree Bay, the most popular and cleanest beach in Cyprus with its powdery sand and crystal clear water.

The sea here starts off quite shallow in Fig Tree Bay so it is perfect when you have small children who love running in and out of the water.

The villa is very close to many amenities, and in fact just a 7-minute walk from the main Protaras strip with its abundance of bars, restaurants, shops and lively nightlife so it is perfect for families.

It has its own private pool with a built-in jacuzzi and is the perfect place to relax and unwind.

* (non-enclosed) small landscaped garden with grass and shrubs, equipped with swing and sunbeds, the end of which is literally 100 metres away from the sea, though it is actually about a 200 m walk to get to the sea
* stone-clad barbecue
* very pretty garden with trees, flowers and you can also sit in the shade of the fig tree to the side of the villa for a cosy lunch or drinks

Smoking is not permitted inside the villa but guests are welcome to smoke outside on the veranda.

PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR POLICY IS NOT TO RENT OUT THIS PROPERTY TO GROUPS OF SINGLE PERSONS AGED 19 AND UNDER.

Electricity: After an acceptable usage of 400 units per week, a charge of 50 cents per unit will be payable. If the air conditioning is used sensibly the allocated units should be sufficient.

* A deposit of 25% of the total rent will be required in order to reserve the villa and the balance will be payable 8 weeks prior to your arrival at the villa.

Nearby Fig Tree Bay

The Famagusta region

The Famagusta region has long stretches of very clean beaches with golden sand. It stretches from Turkish-occupied Famagusta all the way to Ayia Napa.

The Protaras area is very popular with holidaymakers and particularly with beach lovers because life is just one long holiday down there in the summer.

You can enjoy a leisurely long breakfast, taking in the spectacular sea views and then either lounge around by the pool all day or better still, head for gorgeous Fig Tree Bay and enjoy the amazing beauty which nature has provided us with - the golden sand and crystal clear turquoise coloured sea. You can feast on the delicious Cypriot cuisine - try the fish or meat meze - an array of a multitude of tasty local dishes and then head back to the beach.

Then you can freshen up and head out to the main Protaras strip to continue a wonderful night full of fun and relaxation. Here you will find that the locals are very child-friendly so you can enjoy dinner and a few drinks in the company of your children.

The Protaras / Fig Tree Bay area

Protaras is basically a beach resort, a centre for relaxation. It is a popular holiday destination that offers a fabulous selection of beaches (the best of those undoubtedly being Fig Tree Bay, which is just around the corner from the villa) and splendid year round weather.

It is ideal for beach lovers and families. You can take the kids fishing or crabbing (it is fun to feed the crabs some bread and then watch them scurrying about trying to carry it under one arm!!).

There are plenty of water sports near the villa, including jet-skiing, paragliding, banana boats, speed boat hire, pedalos, catamarans, etc. or you can take a leisurely boat trip towards Famagusta or Cape Greco.

Swimming, snorkelling and fishing are of course also very popular ways to spend your time.

There is also a ranch where you can do horse riding about a 2-minute drive away from the villa.

Protaras also has an aquarium, water park and sound and light show.

“The villa and its location was perfect!” The villa is in a quiet location and has a very private garden and a decent sized pool, yet it only takes five minutes to walk to the main shops and restaurants on Protaras main street. The beach is fabulous and was being improved by a boardwalk which was being constructed whilst we were there. The locals are friendly and helpful and there are ample activities to keep our family occupied. The villa itself had all the amenities we required, and more, and was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The owner of the villa was accommodating and helpful and was just an email away when we had any queries. We would not hesitate to book the same villa again.

Guestbook for Buena Vista villa

Just a quick note to say a very big thank you for the use of your villa. It really was home from home, so much so that we hardly went to the beach at all because everything was so convenient and to hand that it seemed silly not to make full use of the amenities.

Of course the gorgeous hot weather helped, but we had a really lovely restful 2 weeks and will certainly be recommending your villa to anyone we know who may be interested in renting it, that is, if we don't decide to come to Cyprus again ourselves in the near future.

The only downfall now is that we're all back to reality now and back at work tomorrow.
