The Famagusta District
The Famagusta district of Cyprus is located in the South-East corner of the island, and has some of the best beaches in Cyprus.
There is plenty to do in the immediate area, but if you want to explore, the villa is within easy striking distance of Larnaca with its picturesque streets and historical buildings, Lefkosia (Nicosia), the last divided capital in the world with its museums and character filled Old City, and the famous Troodos Massif, Cyprus’ mountain region, which is well worth a visit.
Protaras / Pernera area
The area around Pernera includes some of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Cyprus - the local coastline has many rocky coves and small sandy beaches, the most popular being Fig Tree Bay (3 minutes drive away). However, the nearest beach is only 150 metres from Villa Monica.
Every type of water-sport imaginable can be enjoyed locally, including water-skiing, snorkelling and scuba diving, sailing, windsurfing and more.
The well-known tourist resort of Agia Napa (10km away) has plenty of lively night-life, as well as numerous other attractions, such as its 16th Century Venetian Monastery or ‘WaterWorld’ theme park. Nearby Protaras also has many bars, clubs and restaurants, while Pernera itself has various family oriented pubs and restaurants.
Cape Greko, the most south-easterly point in Cyprus is a national park, and has some fantastic secluded coves and beaches.
How to get there
Villa Monica is located in Pernera, in the South-East corner of Cyprus, only 65km and less than an hour’s driving from Larnaca airport.
Paphos airport (where many of the budget airlines fly into) is 175km away – about a two hour drive, most of which is on excellent motorways.
BA, Cyprus Airways, Easyjet and Monarch all fly to Larnaca, while Easyjet fly to Paphos.
Car hire is not essential, but is available from Larnaca or Paphos airports. Alternatively, a taxi from the airport to Villa Monica is easy to arrange.

Further details indoors: The ground floor consists of a large, bright and airy open plan living / dining area with two sofas, a 32” plasma TV with satellite and DVD player (a selection of DVDs are provided), an iPod dock, and a dining table with six chairs.
Leading off the living area is the designer Italian kitchen, complete with all the usual appliances (oven, hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetière, frappé maker and granite worktops).
Cutlery, utensils, saucepans, plates, bowls, cups and glasses are all provided, as are plastic bowls, plates and cups for use by children or by the pool. A cool bag is also provided, perfect for taking a picnic to the beach.
Also downstairs is a convenient cloakroom with modern toilet and washbasin.
Upstairs the accommodation consists of three bedrooms with family bathroom and an en-suite shower room.
At the back of the house, the master bedroom has a large and comfortable 5ft double bed. Sliding doors lead to a balcony with chairs, overlooking the pool. The room has fitted wardrobes and a chest of drawers, and a luxury en-suite shower room.
Bedroom 2 has two 3ft single beds, again with fitted wardrobes, and is a perfect room for either children or adults!
The second double bedroom has a curved bay, giving this room plenty of light and loads of character. It has another 5ft double bed and fitted wardrobe.
The generous sized family bathroom completes the accommodation on the first floor. It contains a modern white bath with shower, basin and toilet.
Further details outdoors: Outside, the 8x4m pool (maximum depth 1.7m) sits at the back of the property, perfect for a dip after a day at the beach. There is also a good sized patio area complete with table, chairs, sun-loungers, parasol and a pool shower.
A BBQ is also provided. The pool is in direct sunlight all day, making everything you need for spending a day just lounging by the pool.

The villa is rented on a per week basis, regardless of the number of guests. The following rates are inclusive of:
* Cleaning prior to arrival * All linen and towels * A welcome basket, containing some basic food items to make the first day easy – and a bottle of wine! We can arrange for specific items to be included in this welcome pack. * Cleaning on departure
Facilities for babies are provided on request, including a travel cot with mattress and sheets, a changing mat, a high chair, a Tomy steriliser, a Tomy baby monitor and some foam play-mats to avoid babies hurting themselves on the tiled floors.
Conditions
We require a security deposit of £200, which will be returned if the villa is left in a reasonable state of cleanliness and repair.
