About the home

Villa Bellini is an immaculately presented and superbly equipped holiday home located in the popular beachside town of Pernera. The villa is ideally located in a safe and quiet gated complex called Crystal Lagoon which is only 400m from the nearest sandy beach and 100m from 2 supermarkets, cafes and bars. Louma beach is literally a three minute walk along the pavement and you don't even have to cross any roads! All the lovely tavernas, bars and amenities of Pernera are a two minute stroll in the opposite direction. If you are looking for something a bit more lively, then Protaras is just 3km away and even accessible via a lovely wooden walkway that hugs the stunning coastline all the way between Pernera and Protaras. Here you will see many people jogging or walking in the early mornings. It's floodlit and so can be used at night quite safely.

There are now 2 supermarkets right outside the Crystal Lagoon development stocking a great selection of groceries including fresh fruit and bread and many other essential items for those first few days of your holiday. Our welcome letter and information pack gives you details of the bigger supermarkets such as Lidl and Carrefour where we'd advise you to buy your main holiday grocery shop as it would be cheaper than paying the tourist prices in the 2 supermarkets outside Crystal Lagoon or in resort.

Villa Bellini has 3 bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 twin), 2 bathrooms, (1 en-suite), a large open-plan living/dining area, downstairs cloakroom/toilet and a separate kitchen. All rooms are furnished to a very high standard with your comfort and well-being in-mind. The luxury Italian fitted kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, the dining table can seat 8 people or why not fire up the BBQ for some al-fresco dining over-looking the pool. Outside there is a beautiful patio garden with sun loungers, table, chairs and parasol. Our garden area is much larger than other villas on Crystal Lagoon - so we are very lucky to have plenty of space to spread out your sunbeds and catch a few "rays"!!

The family that own the villa have a young family and so children are well-catered for with stair-gates, a cot-bed, high-chair, 2 Bed Rails (to stop children falling out of the beds), a baby monitor, window locks and plenty of toys for the swimming pool. We supply all the Bath/Hand Towels and Pool/Beach Towels for you as well - to save you valuable space in your luggae!! These are checked and replaced annually to make sure everything is in tip-top condition for your stay.

Unlike many of the villas in Crystal Lagoon the swimming pool is surrounded by landscaped flower beds and a large terrace/garden area that sun-worshippers will love as it benefits from sun virtually the whole day long.

Please note that the swimming pool is not normally heated (not required in the hot summer months) but this can be arranged for an additional fee upon request.

The interior is decorated to a high standard with neutral colours. Air-conditioning in all bedrooms and the living/dining areas. Each bedroom has plenty of wardrobe space. There is a large dining table with 8 leather chairs. A fully equipped Italian fitted kitchen including: plates, cups, glasses, cooking utensils, pots and pans etc... Satellite Plasma TV with DVD. Stair gates (x2), High chair x 1, Bed Rails x2, Cot Bed x1. But if you need extra equipment for babies, we can supply this for you.

Conditions

The villa is rented on a weekly basis and prices are in £Sterling per week for the villa, regardless of the number of guests staying. We do ask our customers for a security/damage deposit of £300 (Sterling) to confirm your reservation. This will be returned within 2 weeks of check out. The full rental fee is due 8-weeks prior to arrival.

The Famagusta region

The Famagusta region is steeped in history with roman ruins including an amphitheatre and roman baths. The region also boasts a “ghost town” in the form of Famagusta town which was once a thriving resort but is now the subject of an on-going dispute of ownership that has lasted many decades between the Greeks and the Turks. Famagusta town lies just over the border in Northern Cyprus but is popular with tourists for day excursions but you will need to bring your passport as well as your camera!

The region also has perhaps the finest beaches on the island with gently-sloping Blue Flag beaches and crystal-clear water ideal for swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving. For the more adventurous many beaches provide watersports including jet-skiing, para-gliding, water skiing and wind-surfing. Fig Tree Bay is undoubtedly one of the finest beaches on the island and is only 2 -3 Kms from the villa near to Protoras. Also close-by is the dramatic and rugged coastline of Cavo Greco where you can find sea caves and even see people cliff-diving. It also has a tranquil national forest park with excellent nature trails.

Drive along the coast and explore charming little fishing villages which provide a great opportunity to see the “catch of the day” being landed and traditional basket-weaving methods. The rolling countryside is famous for its old windmills – take a drive and pass through some of the small villages with their narrow streets, churches and sleepy tavernas overlooking the main squares.

The region also boasts larger towns such as Paralimni and Protoras with plenty of shops, hypermarkets and nightlife to suit everyone. Ayia Napa is about a 15 minute drive away and is renowned the world over for being a party town with plenty of bars and clubs. It also has some fantastic sandy beaches as well as an amazing waterpark that the kids will love.

On average Cyprus has 360 days of sunshine per year. The climate is perfect for all year round holidays whether you are looking for a summer holiday or winter sun. English is widely spoken making it easy to converse with the locals.

The Protaras / Pernera area

Crystal Lagoon itself is situated in the heart of Pernera. The villa is a short distance from beautiful Louma beach which has been awarded the Blue Flag award for its cleanliness and safety. The shallow water in Pernera cove is perfect for children. The beach has water sports including jet-skiing, para-gliding, water skiing, banana boats and windsurfing. Alternatively you can also take a boat trip from nearby Pernera marina or a day trip to the Troodos mountains, Larnaca or Nicosia. Other nearby excursions include horse riding, camel riding, rock climbing, cycling and jeep safaris. It is also possible to book a day trip to see the Pyramids in Egypt!

Pernera itself is a quiet coastal town with a good selection of tavernas, bars, cafes, ice cream parlours, shops and most of the amenities you could want during your stay. Most bars have free Wi-Fi connections so bring along your laptop. At the entrance to Crystal Lagoon there are 2 good-sized supermarkets with extended opening hours.

Protoras is a larger and busier coastal town just 3km away but is a lovely evening walk from Pernera along a newly built wooden walkway that hugs the shoreline. Protoras caters for thousands of tourists every year and has a wider selection of bars and restaurants as well as a great waterpark. It boasts probably the best beach on the island at Fig Tree bay.

Most UK airports fly to Cyprus. Larnaca airport is the closest to the villa (a 40-45 minute car ride away). You could also fly in to Paphos airport but please be aware that this is further away and would take about 1½-2 hours to get to the villa by car. We had a lovely holiday and enjoyed immensely our stay in your villa which was perfect for our large family. The kids had a great time playing out on the terrace and splashing in the pool. It’s so quiet and safe around here and ideal that we can just wander up the road to have dinner in Pernera (recommend Gordon Bleu taverna as they even did food that we could take back and eat in the villa, Mr & Mrs B, London, June 2009.

Note: gas for the pool heating and central heating in cooler months is extra - see below.

Pool heating is available at the cost of gas fills which is around €150-€200 per fill. This should last for approximately 1 week (up to two fills may be required in winter depending on running temperature). If you would like the pool to be heated, please let us know at the time you make your booking so we can make the arrangements with our pool maintenance company.

Additional cost for Central Heating. If you only require Central Heating in the cooler months and are not going to use the pool - this is cheaper than heating the pool above and is an additional €100-€150 (Euros) per week.
