The Famagusta District
Famagusta is a region of fertile red soil, old windmills, and fabulous beaches, the best-known resort being Agia Napa, the Mediterranean's new centre of clubbing. It also has a beautiful 16th century monastery and the breathtaking Cape Greco. To the north are the villages of Liopetri, known for its basket-making, Sotira, with its small 15th and 16th century churches and Dherynia with its Folk Art Museum and the Cultural Centre of the occupied town of Famagusta. The whitewashed inland town of Paralimni contrasts with its modern beach resort of Protaras, known also for its windmills dotted across the fields among the hotels. Protaras is a slightly watered-down version of Ayia Napa. It is another beach resort area, but is more spread out, has a better range of beaches which tends to give visitors more breathing space. Protaras is considered by many one of the most popular resorts on the island due to it’s popular sandy beaches and wide range of facilities, most within easy walking distance of wherever you have chosen to stay.
Protaras area
The centre of Protaras with its wide selection of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars is less than 2 kilometres away and the lively resort of Ayia Napa is within a 7 minute drive. The villa is within easy reach of several of the east coasts' sandy beaches and the beautiful stretch of beach at Konnos Bay is approximately 3 kilometres away.

Guestbook
Carter - 22/07/2007 - We had a great time at the Villa, just in the right location, away from the buzz of Protaras but near enough to take a drive in for an evening meal. Beaches in the area are wonderful. Reinhart - 27/05/2007 - Thank you for a wonderful holiday. The villa was beautiful, peaceful and exactly what we wanted. Protaras was a friendly resort and we hope to go back again in a few years.
