The Famagusta District
There are abundant and varied places to see in Cyprus, evoking the interest of every person from the ages of 2 years to 90 years of age, from the idyllic coastal seashores to the inland archaeological sites where various and truly amazing artifacts can be found to those interested in ancient history.
Famagusta is an amazing district steeped in history dating back to 11.000 years BC, the fist signs of civilization. Recently in 2005, the possible discovery of the Lost City of Atlantis just off the coastline of Cape Greco, has raised new international interest from archaeologists and tourists alike.
This interesting and populated district is now home to many multiculteral influences while still maintaining its own traditions and customs. Fast becoming a modern area of 21st living, the times of the past are still living side by side in agreable harmony.
Protaras area
This is a new area, which has expanded to meet its neighbouring town of Paralimni in one direction, and extended down towards the coast in the other direction within walking distance to the nearest beach.
The high street has a few restaurants with great food and pubs, where you can sit and chat with the locals. A mini market is is also available offering a variety of foods and personal essentials.
Kapparis is the most direct route into the ghost town of Famagusta, but unfortunatley it is still classed as NO Mans Land at the moment; If you are an avid walker, you can have an amble on that route to the Famagusta View Point where you can have a good view of Famagusta and catch up on the history of Famagusta by the owners of the view point.
A 5-10 minute bus ride and you are in the centre of Protaras with its vast array of restaurants, pubs and souvenier shops, and of course the lovely Fig Tree Bay Beach.
A 5 minute ride in another direction, and you will come to the Municipal town of Paralimni where all the locals live and shop at the two major supermarkets.
How to get there
Larnaca airport is the closest airport being approximately a 40 minute drive into Kapparis.

Further details indoors: Ground Floor: A spacious L shaped, open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area; The lounge area has been lovingly furnished with good quality furniture consisting of a 3 piece lounge suite offering comfortable seating. A Satellite TV (free to air), DVD and portable stereo are provided for entertainment.
First Floor: A short flight of stairs lead up to the remaining three bedrooms, consisting of one double bedroom and two twin rooms; one twin room has an en-suite shower. All the rooms have built-in floor to ceiling wardrobes and fitted air- conditioning for cool air.
The double bedroom has an accompanying balcony with a view of the swimming pool from one side.Adjacent to the spacious bathroom with bath and shower over it, a washing machine is situated for your use.
Further details outdoors: A private, gated driveway accommodating one vehicle, leads up to the side and rear patio areas. The private 4x8ft swimming pool is situated to the rear of the villa ensuring more privacy. Sun lounges and patio furniture are provided for your relaxation, as well as an umbrella to give that much needed shade from hot summer sun.
If swimming in the private pool is not preferred, a short drive of 2 minutes will take you to the nearest sandy beach of Kalamias near a small fishing harbour. A 7 minute drive will take you into the centre of the holiday resort of Protaras and the well renowned Fig Tree Bay.
