The Famagusta District
CYPRUS, Kypros in Greek, is the third largest island in the Mediterranean after Sicily and Sardinia, covering an area of approximately 9,251 square kilometers. It has a maximum length of 240 kms from east to west and a maximum width of 100 kms from north to south. Cyprus has a Mediterranean climate with typical seasons, such as hot, dry summers from mid-May to mid-September and mild, rather changeable winters from November to mid-March are separated by short autumn and spring seasons. Summers are hot with temperatures ranging between 29 C and 40 C. Winters are mild with temperatures ranging between10 C and 18 C. Sunshine is abundant during the whole year and particularly from April to September when the average duration of bright sunshine exceeds 11 hours per day.
FAMAGUSTA district or, Ammochostos in Greek, is located on the Eastern coast of Cyprus, and is a region rich in history. Ancient churches such as Profitis Elias, perched high on the hill overlooking Protaras, are well worth a visit, if you can manage the 200 steps to reach it! The hundreds of windmills are a reminder that this is still a farming district. the rich red soil in this area is where Cyprus potatoes are grown. The area of Famagusta includes the resorts of Ayia Napa, Protaras, Pernera and Kapparis, Boasting the best beaches in Cyprus, the Famagusta district offers something for everyone.
PROTARAS - Protaras is the main beach resort of the Famagusta district and is well known for its magnificent golden sandy beaches, Fig tree bay being one of the best in Cyprus. Water sports are in abundance, Jet-skis, wind surfing and snorkling as well as several good diving schools. Boat trips, either for fishing, or a cruise around the coast to view the ghost town of old Famagusta, and the breathtaking scenery of Cape Greko are a must do. An ideal holiday location for couples and families, renting a villa in Protaras makes for a perfect holiday.
Ayia Napa is located about 8 kilometers from Protaras, and is home to another of cyprus' famous golden beaches, Nissi beach. It also has the biggest theme-waterpark in Europe, a fantastic day out for the whole family. In recent years Napa has become known as one of the party capitals of the Mediterranean, with many bars and nighclubs, but still retains it's character as a village with historic churches and it's pretty marina where you can enjoy a quite evening meal at one of the typical fish tavernas.
Protaras / Pernera area
Villa Rheia is situated in the resort of Pernera between the larger towns of Protaras and Paralimni. Set 100m back from the coast, outstanding uninterrupted sea views can be enjoyed from the large terraces.
A 100m stroll will take you to the sandy beach of Marlita Bay. 10 minutes walk along the coastal path is the famous Fig Tree Bay and Flamingo beach with its fantastic golden sand and crystal clear waters. All manner of water sports can be tried here.
The villa is within a five minute walk of the local shops, restaurants, bars, and a family waterpark in Pernera.15-20min walk will take you to the heart of Protaras, a very lively area with numerous bars, restaurants, large hotels and nightspots. Head for Paralimni (10min drive), for shopping and large supermarkets.
Cape Greko, an area of outstanding natural beauty (don't forget your camera), can be reached in 10 minutes by car. 5 minutes further on there is the town of Ayia Napa with it's waterpark, pretty marina, fabulous beaches, many restaurants, bars and buzzing nightclubs for those wishing to dance the night away!
How to get there
Take a Taxi from Larnaca Airport to Protaras or hire a car. An easy drive along the motorway which takes approx 40 minutes. Driving is on the left just like the UK. We will forward full and easy to follow directions to the villa.

Further details indoors: The open plan lounge and dining area provides seating for six. Satellite T.V. Stereo, DVD & films, Ipod Dock and playstation2 with games are provided for your use.
The kitchen, with Granite worksurfaces is fully equipped with Water cooler, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Halogen Hob, Microwave, Large fridge freezer and Fan oven, in fact everything you will need during your stay.
All Bedrooms have large wardrobes with ample storage, beds are furnished with quality orthopaedic mattresses for your comfort, linen and bathroom towels are provided (not beach towels) and changed weekly.
Full air conditioning/heating is included in the rental cost.
Further details outdoors: Outside there are sun loungers, a shower, large table and chairs, BBQ and lighting for alfresco dining. The gardens are regularly tended and are filled with colourfull shrubs and plants.
Glorious sea views surround the villa. Many hours can be spent watching the activities on the water, from the early morning fishing boats bringing in their catch, to the evening sunsets.
The Pool is Illuminated for after dark swimming, and is kept sparkling with regular maintenance by Andreas our pool man.

Linen and bathroom towels changed weekly along with a weekly clean. Extra cleaning can be provided at additional cost.
We do not accept bookings from all male or all female groups. The villa is suitable for couples and families only.
Conditions
A 25% (non-refundable) deposit will be required to secure the booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. A security deposit of £200 is required with the balance payment, this will be refunded to you less any damage costs on your return.
The villa will be available to you after 3pm on the day of arrival and we ask that you vacate the property by 11am on departure day to allow for cleaning.
Our Manager will visit you within 48 hours of your arrival to ensure you have everything you need for your stay. Contact details will be available to you should you have any queries or problems throughout your holiday.
A basic welcome pack will be provided (Tea coffee milk sugar bread butter preserves water) Any additional items can be provided on request and at extra charge. ------We are pleased to inform you that currently there are no building works being carried out within close proximity to Villa Rheia.
