At present we have 4 adult push bikes to use either around the village or further afield. The are sunbeds to either sit in the garden or to take to the beach in the car. There are plenty of chairs to enjoy the garden along wih tables to enjoy either a meal or drinks. Enjoy breakfast and fresh orange juice on the back patio enjoying the Mediterranean sun. There is NO SWIMMING POOL at the villa but the Mediterranean Sea is only 12 minutes drive away, why would you want a pool? when you can swim with the fishes and walk on all the sandy beaches the island has to offer.
Although we welcome smokers we request that smoking is not allowed in the villa, but the garden and patios or balcony's is not a problem. We do not accept single sex parties under the age of thirty. The Famagusta region
The villa is in the District of Famagusta which is in the Greek part of the island of Cyprus. You may reconise the name of Famagusta, it is better known for the Ghost Town of Famagusta. When the Turkish Army invadied the island of Cyprus back in 1974 and the Greek Cypriots fled Famagusta leaving everything behind.
The town of Famagusta is now under the occupation of the Turkish Amry and is in what is called the Turkish Replubic of Northern Cyprus, parts of the Ghost town can be seen from the balcony's at the villa. The district of Famagusta has some if not the best beaches and coves in the Greek part of the island. The holiday towns of Protaras, Kapparis and Ayia Napa are all close by and just a drive away. The island is steeped with history and every village has ancient churches. Cyprus is in the Mediterranean Sea with crystal clear sea water which come August is like a warm bath.
Protaras is the holiday town about 15 minutes drive from the villa and the typical bucket and spade beach holiday but with guaranteed sunshine during the summer months (May-October) but be careful the sun is HOT during the peek months of July and August, not saying that June and September are cold.
The villa is ideal for going to the beach, depending on which way you leave the village. In one direction you will be at Firemans beach within 12 minutes at Kapparis (Little England) travelling towards the end of the island you will pass all the small coves, beaches and little harbours, including Paralimni Harbour. Continuing down towards Protaras and Fig Tree bay the commercial holiday areas before climbing up the steep hill above Protaras (look out for the church on the hill) and heading towards Cape Greco and Konnis Bay (Mikes Beach) which is to die for, but get there early as the best beds go early, although we recoomend you take the ones from the villa. Climbing back up the hillside following the road around the island you will come down the hill into Ayia Napa. The name Ayia Napa is well known by the 18-30 crowd, but don't be put off by this as the area has plenty of wonderful beaches to enjoy. You have also got the old part of the town and the harbour with all its restaurants set around the harbour. Nissi Beach is the lively beach with all the music and drinking games etc, but you have another half a dozen beaches to try, including Adams and Golden Beach. As you leave Ayia Napa behind you will pass the Waterpark before you arrive at the last beach at Ayia Thekla.
At this point you head inland to return to the village of Frenaros. I hope you took your camera for this journey. The village of Frenaros has everything you need for your holiday, bars and restaurant some Greek and some English run offering simple Greek and English food. The real bonus is you are in a village where both the Greek Cypriots and expats live and you are out of the tourist magnet and you pay what locals pay. In the village we have a first class bakery for bread and cakes, but don't forget the cake shop too. There are 3 banks with cash machines. There is a butchers, fishmongers, greengrocers, newsagents, bakers, supermarket and betting shops......home from home. The neighbouring village has the Strawberry Festival in May (that would be free strawberries for everyone, with bands and fireworks at the football stadium. Just one of the many festivals Cyprus has to offer.

"what a gem!"
Review Submitted: 14 June 2011 Date of Stay: June 2011
I travelled to this villa with my partner in June 2011. The weather was lovely and the modern, very well looked after villa had everything we could have wanted. The use of the car was a brilliant bonus as it enabled us to visit anywhere we wanted, meaning we could make the most of visiting several beaches! (who wants a pool when the natural sea is just 10mins drive away for cycling!)
The neighbours were lovely, very welcoming and plenty of information for local activities was available in the villa, along with plenty of entertainment such as games and DVD's.
The local shops are nearby, with a brilliant bakery selling way too many sweet temptations.
Overall the villa made an extremely comfortable base for our holiday and we would definitely use it again if we were to return to cyprus.
Thankyou for such a gem.

"This is a wonderful villa"
This is a wonderful villa set in a lovely Cypriot village just out of the tourist area but close enough to the tourist area using the car. Only a short trip but because you have the car we tried different beaches, Konnis Bay our favourite, we also used some of the hotel pools and loungers. The beaches are wonderful though didn't travel that far to sit by a pool. The neighbours are lovely and nothing seemed too much trouble. The car gave us the bonus as we always hire a car on holiday so a free one was brilliant. The village has everything; bakery's to die for, a supermarket and sadly you can buy British newspapers from the kiosk, restaurants/bars which aren't too expensive. The villa was modern and to a very high standard, with Bosch appliances in the kitchen and 42" TV with dvd's if we had time to watch any. (Just like it says on the tin, or in this case the brochure). There are a couple of play areas yards from the villa and no cars other than the neighbours and the farmers so the children can play outside with no worries. If the villa had a pool that would be a bonus but the car more than made up for it. I would have no problems going again (or recommending it to family and friends) and we are looking to see if we can get back again in the near future.

What a wonderful holiday. Only the two of us and we knew things would be quiet as we can only take our holidays out of season. We chose not to go to a resort town as we knew there would be nothing going on however Frenaros had plenty to offer and not too far to Aya Nappa, Protaras etc. What a lovely surprise when we arrived at the villa, the neighbours had been in earlier and put some heating on for us and there was a welcome pack so we could make a brew etc. Terry, one of Chris's friends picked us up at the airport and having settled us in at the villa gave us a lift to one of the local bars where we got something to eat and had a pint with him. Great already made friends on first night. Couldn't want for anything in the villa, big tv for me, nice modern kitchen for Ann, a bathroom each and one left over if someone dropped in. The other neighbours in the cul de sac were fantastic, Keith next door took me down to the racetrack where they were practicing with some quite nifty sports cars. Terry was having a fling for his birthday and invited us along, magic.
Having the car was super and we were able to get all over the place including down to Paphos where we stayed overnight.
A very special thanks to Gerry and Lynn who lookeded after Ann whilst I selfishly went "full board" at the local hospital to part company with my appendix. They looked after her when 3000 miles from home and made sure she wasn't on her own. A great holiday even with my problems, I would recommend this villa to anyone and defy them not to be impressed. Thanks to Chris and Karen for the loan of your villa and your friends over there, as I said MARVELLOUS
