The Corsica region
The great attraction of Corsica is the natural beauty and guaranteed excellent weather - dry and hot during day, cool in evening and night. I have been coming here for the last thirty five years with my five children who love it and still come back, now with their own youngsters.
Propriano is the main seaside resort in south-west Corsica and is a perfect choice for those who want to relax and recuperate from the stress of working life, but also offers innumerable possibilities for visitors who want a more active holiday: water sports: snorkelling, deep sea diving (possibility of passing diplomas), water skiing, swimming (safe, supervised beach in Propriano with swimming lessons for children by qualified instructors); horse riding (several clubs and organisations arrange horse rides and horse-riding lessons);walking and mountaineering;cultural visits: the World Heritage prehistoric site of Filitosa about 10 miles away on the other side of the Gulf of Valinco, and other minor prehistoric sites in the area. All kinds of shops (groceries, mini supermarkets, clothes, souvenirs, beauty salons, hairdressers) and restaurants ranging from small cafés on the beach to haute cuisine restaurants in Propriano and neighbourhood. Two big hypermarkets five minute drive from Propriano. Big market in centre of town twice a month. Many local fêtes during the summer with dancing. Many concerts of Corsican groups.

The flat is situated in a beautifully landscaped residence overlooking the Gulf of Valinco in the south west of Corsica about 50 miles from the capital of Corsica, Ajaccio (with international airport) and same distance from the airport of , and a five minute drive from the seaside resort of Propriano, and in easy reach of many sandy beaches. The surrounding countryside is one of the most beautiful in the world and unlike so many other places is still completely unspoilt: it is mostly mountainous and hilly and in spite of the hot weather in summer always very green because of the “maquis” vegetation- wonderful for walking, picnicking by the rivers, visiting the many unspoilt Corsican villages and towns in the interior such as Sartene and Santa Lucia, as well as the more tourist centres such as Porto Vecchio or stunnning Bonifacio.
In the vicinity there are wonderful walking and climbing possibilities, water skiing, deep sea diving, indoor swimming pool, horse riding, many beaches, swimming lessons on the beach. It is ideal for families with children and for people who either want a quiet, relaxed holiday, or those who are sporty and active. There are a few nightclubs in the town, but the main night spots are at Porto Vecchio.
The flat is in a very beautiful, well kept residence with four swimming pools and a tennis court, and secure gates (special key needed for entry and exit). Children can play outside, and cycle at absolutely no risk.
