About this location
The Dalmatia region
Olives, indigenous aromatic plants, brilliancy of white stone against the verdant vegetation and the towering mountain massif of Biokovo whose spurs reach all the way to the sea – yes, this is indeed an exceptional part of the country, and its beauty is made all the more enchanting by numerous historic events and monuments, and cultural manifestations. In short, this is an ever interesting region full of attractions which draws a great many visitors.
When, in the year 305, the Roman Emperor Diocletian, who ruled the entire world at that time, decided to build his leisure time abode - in which he intended to spend the rest of his life - he had no doubt as to exactly where build to it. In the very heart of Dalmatia, in the bay of Aspalathos (Split), well protected from the sea by the islands of the Split archipelago, and defended on its landward side by high mountains, Diocletian created a special point on the map of the Adriatic: the future city of Split. Due to the rugged coastline and numerous islands of all sizes and topographies, diving, yachting, kayaking and other outdoor activities are very popular in this part of Croatia. Dalmatian coast is known for its warm sea, constant winds and beautiful wooded islands. During summer art, food and music fill the theaters, plazas, galleries and streets of those cities and the atmosphere is awesome. Attractive tourist rivieras and resorts spreads accross Dalmatian coast. National parks Paklenica, the island of Mljet, Kornati archipelago have a prominent landscape that can be explored safely.
The town is situated on an island that five hundred years ago the inhabitants connected to the mainland (primostiti) and to get to their fields and from which the town received its name. Surrounded by seven small islands, Primosten is a gift of nature that leaves no one unimpressed. What an ungenerous nature has not given, the hard-working people have created to make Primosten one of the most attractive destinations on the Adriatic. Stone houses, churches and narrow kale are a perfect combination of the past and the present. From a former fishing village the town has developed into the touristic paradise of this part of the Adriatic. The charm that this small town exudes is difficult to resist. An enclosed residential complex of nine beautiful is located in its immediate vicinity.
