Located just 300m from the sea in an area of outstanding coastal scenery, this beautiful old farmhouse and neighbouring stone longere have been completely renovated and decorated to the highest of standards. Ty Traez is the largest house. The stylish interior is spacious, light and airy and has bags of charm. High quality furnishings mix with antiques and natural materials.
The bedrooms have top quality comfortable beds with white egyptian cotton bedding. There are modern bathrooms and a fully equipped hand built kitchen. The upstairs games room with table tennis is a great space for kids and has views out over the sea. Set in its own grounds, surrounded by high stone walls, the house overlooks the large, pretty garden and fields that stretch to the sea. A short walk takes you to the coastal path which leads to a sandy beach, sheltered and gently shelving it is ideal for families. There are various small creeks that are wonderful to swim off, and quiet craggy points to watch the sun go down.
The house makes a great all year round destination, in the summer there is a choice of beautiful, unspoilt beaches with plenty of activites such as surfing, windsurfing. diving, or kayaking. In winter there is no better place to come to walk the GR34 and witness the winter storms and huge wild seas at the end of the Pointe du Raz, with the promise of a warm cosy house with a roaring log fire at the end of the day.
Neighbouring Ty Bili is a stone longere dating from 1836, this house has recently completely renovated and sleeps 5 persons in complete comfort, please ask us for more details.

The Brittany / Finistere region

Brittany is a rich and diverse region, with strong local traditions, excellent regional cuisine and an incredible variety of things to do. This magical part of France is similar to how Cornwall was about 15 years ago. The coastline is very unspoilt, and authentic villages appear untouched for centuries with beautiful stone houses that cluster around intricate churches.
Having seen many of the 'best' beaches in the world, we feel that Brittany can offer some that are the equal to any other. The water is extremely clear in the summer and even in peak season, the best beaches are never crowded. From intimate coves to wide surfing beaches, the area has a huge choice.
Food is consistently excellent and good value.
Spectacular parks, gardens and chateaux are easy to find, and kids always enjoy all the outdoor activities on offer.
The Primelin area
This is the ideal base for those who are looking for an unspoilt and stunning stretch of coast, beaches, and an area rich in authenticity. The Cap Sizun has some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in France, an area of protected coastline that boasts a spectacular coastal footpath, high rocky cliffs, wide open beaches that feel the full force of the Atlantic waves and small sheltered sandy bays great for kids and water sports. The nearby Pointe du Raz and the bird reserve of Goulien are two of France's leading tourist attractions, yet the area remains completely unspoilt. Audierne just 6km away is a bustling marine port with a lively market, gourmet restaurants, an aquarium and is the departure point for the Ferry to the Isle de Sein. Further afield lie the beautiful medieval towns of Quimper, and Locronan.
This area is also famous for its small chapels and 'calvaires', some perched on the edge of the cliffs, others tucked away in small green valleys, in the summer they often host art exhibitions and music concerts. Nearby Pont Croix is a small medieval city with the french label 'petite cite de caractere'. Dournenez and Audierne are both authentic fishing ports where you can watch the arrival of the days catch and then feast on the freshest of seafood. Douarnenez also has a very interesting maritime museum where the exhibits are 'live' in that you are free to explore the old fishing boats still on the water - they often have trips out to sea on kayaks and different vessels.
If you are active (or would like to be!) then you are spoilt for choice. A new sea kayak is provided for your use, which is perfect for exploring the coastline around Primelin. It can be launched just 300m away from the house, and allows you to discover inaccessible coves, cliffs, caves and the crystalline waters. There are also some excellent snorkelling spots and dive sites. This is a great spot for windsurfing too and nearby there are fabulous surf beaches. The bicycles allow you to explore further afield; we can show you various cycle routes. Or simply discover the spectacular coastal path by foot. Next door to the house are the village tennis courts. There is a choice of three horse riding stables all 5 minutes from the house. In summer , just a few steps off the beaten track it is easy to find yourselves alone on the most fantastic beaches. In winter, come and watch the winter storms and breathe the fresh atlantic air. If you are not active, the house is so calm, peaceful and extremely comfortable, that it is a pleasure just to find a quiet corner and sit and read a book, write a letter or listen to music!

Guestbook for Ty Traez
A fabulous house, the best we have stayed in in France. Lister/ Bates High Wycombe. What a lovely house this is, with lots of personal touches from owners who clearly have style and vision. We have enjoyed a wonderful week in this very beautiful unspoilt area and only wish we had another three. J May - Truro.
Such a beautiful house with such a light and calm feel to it. All the furnishings fit perfectly with the colour schemes. We have had a super week. M Bailey St Albans.
A wonderful and relaxing stay. The house is such a pleasure to be in and we really wish we could stay! All your tasteful decoration, furnishings and colours are superb! Thank you both for the opportunity to share your beautiful house which we have felt this week was 'home'. We would love to return very soon. S. Williams S. Wales.
As Americans we came a long distance it was well worth it. Rowand - VA. We've enjoyed the lovely beaches, the rustling trees, fantastic sunsets, wonderful local foods. Harnan family. Although it has been some fourteen months since we stayed in this special place for five nights in October of 2006, the memories of Claire's lovely home are so wonderfully fresh in our hearts and minds. Just the two of us in a house with plenty of room for ten; the cozy fires; breakfasts on the terrace; the sounds of the sea; the farmers in the fields; hunters in the hedgerows; the long walks along the beaches; daytrips near and far. Everything about the house was perfect - the furnishings, the kitchen, the yard, and the bottle of wine left on the table the night we arrived.
