Cottage | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
Lilac Cottage is a delightful whitewashed stone cottage that is ideally located just a couple of minutes walk up from the High Street of the charming English/Wales border town of Presteigne - and truly a home from home.
This cosy home offers a wealth of character, exposed beams and stone walls now enhanced by the big wood burner in the lounge.
If you are seeking a quiet break away from the hum drum of modern life in the city then Presteigne offers it. Turn out from the cottage one way and you are into town in 3 minutes, turn the other way and you are 3 minutes into the rolling Welsh hills with the historic Offas Dyke path nearby.
A walkers or cyclists paradise.

The Powys/Brecon Beacons region
Presteigne is just about the most friendly town you would hope to stay in. A 5 minute stroll into the small town to get a newspaper or a pint of milk is likely to take 45 minutes as locals stop and chatter with you. Presteigne is a border town with the cathedral city of Hereford just a 50 minutes drive away, the lovely city of Worcester a 90 minute drive away and Shrewsbury just an hours drive. And let's not forget the beautiful town of Ludlow, just 30 minutes away and a centre of food excellence with restaurants and shops alike.
Are you a walker or a cyclist? - Then the area has it all including the Brecon Beacons a 30 minute drive further into mid Wales and the town itself has just about everything you need. But don't expect department stores or huge supermarkets - the town is really just the one High Street. Wonderful.
Through the summer and autumn season there are festivals, mainly music, in both Presteigne and the surrounding towns.
