Large and spacious property which provides a 'home from home' in all seasons. Set in rural France the house provides an ideal base for exploring the regions of Charente, Vienne and Limosine. As well as ample living space there is substantial sleeping accommodation both in and around the house, the summer has seen friends pitching a tent an soaking up the company of a large family holiday.

The private, fenced and alarmed pool is heated and is available between May and October. Four bicycles and a tandum are provided to explore the local countryside. With the local farm and small-holding nearby there is plenty of fresh, local and often complimentary produce to enjoy. There is a wealth of information on places to see, places to eat and activities to enjoy. Despite our visiting the area for over 12 years, we are continually amazed by the new discoveries we make.

The Poitou-Charentes region

This unspoilt region of France, sheltered by the Vendee, it enjoys a summer climate similar to the Dordoigne without losing the magic of a cold white winter, with ski slopes less than 2 hours away.

Pressac sits on the border of Charente and Vienne and both rivers are within a short distance. Pressac marks the border of the French Resistance and the neighbouring village of Pleuville, which was part of occupied France......memories take time to fade and there are plenty of interesting debates to be had with some of the older locals about times gone by. There are plenty of outdoor activities in the area: kayaking, absailing, golf, swimming, velo-rail, cycling and much more. There are three cities within 50minutes of Pressac, with plenty of historic architecture, shopping and restaurants.

Pressac

Pressac is a busy little village with a church, bakery, mini market, petrol station, post office. There are three bar restaurants and a moules & frittes restaurant within the village, these offer extremely good value and are within a 10 minute cycle of the house. There is a beautiful lake, river and village green. The pretty town of Confelens is about 20 minutes away and, as well as many bars and restaurants provides for all general shopping needs.
