Casa Anna A, B and C and Casa Marina are four small apartments which are part of a typical building of the Amalfi Coast, with stunning sea views and access to a lemon garden. The building is in Praiano, a famous tourist spot of the Amalfi Coast, a few meters from the main road and a short distance from the Tower of Praiano and the famous pedestrian descent to the beach.
The structure has two floors and the apartments are located on the first floor. It is white and bright and is included in a picturesque environment of small houses built along the road and the rocky coast. In front of the house, across the street, there is only the coast which rapidly slopes down to the sea and is covered up to the sea by a magnificent scented lemon grove.
The building is attached to the rocky coast and, from the highest level, above the three apartments you can access a wonderful lemon garden, which is embedded into the rock, too.
The lemon garden is a very special place. Here you will experience one of the magic of the Amalfi Coast, a corner of paradise: a scented lemon grove within feet, eyes, hands; a grape arbor that shades a small family garden, a rustic terrace decorated with flowers, and always in front of you the spectacular landscape of the steep coast that plunges into the sea.
This lemon garden is personally cared by the owner, a nice lady who will be happy to accommodate you whenever you like in her little kingdom and also provide you with garden furniture, to stand under the grape arbor, an outdoor kitchen and outdoor shower.
The nearest beach is the charming Marina di Praia, located at the point where a small valley carved by erosion meets, among the high rocks, a sea of emerald color.
The beach is served, from spring to autumn, by buses that depart from Praiano every 20 minutes, stopping a few meters from the apartments.
To go to the sea do not miss the following wonderful walk: reach the beach walking along a 'scalinatella' (stairway), which leads to the Torre Saracena (Saracen Tower), and thence along a charming pedestrian descent, carved into the rock above the sea, which leads to the beach.
Spending your vacation here will allow you to enjoy an environment of unique natural beauty, but it will be also a great starting point to visit Pompeii, Paestum, Naples and the Royal Palace of Caserta.
You will be able to frequent the famous beaches of the Amalfi Coast, to go shopping for fashion and high quality craft products, to follow the many high level folkloric, artistic, cultural and musical events taking place throughout the whole year.
The terrace is equipped with a table, chairs, deck chairs and an external shower. From the terrace you will enjoy an enchanting view of the sea and of the coast of Amalfi. You will share the terrace with the other guests staying at the complex.
The garden is partly shaded by a characteristic pergola with a bamboo roof. The garden is equipped with a sofa and two armchairs, as well as with a table and chairs. Here you will also find a portable barbecue. From the garden you will enjoy a gorgeous view of the sea. You will share the garden with the other guests staying at the complex.

The building is white and luminous. Casa Anna is part of a picturesque group of small houses, built along the profile of the road and of the rocky coast. To reach it from the main road, you only have to climb approximately 30 steps. The top floor is divided into two apartments, A and B, placed one by the other.
A very special spot of Casa Anna is the garden of lemon trees (in the area a piece of land where citrus trees are grown is called "garden"). You will reach the garden, as well as an adjacent terrace, going up one floor. You will have a perfumed lemon growth, like the ones that you see in the postcards, right at your fingertips. There are also orange trees and tangerine trees, a grapevine that gives shade to a small family vegetable garden, a rustic terrace decorated by flower, and, of course, the spectacular show of the steep coast that dives into the sea.
Shops and restaurants are at approximately 200 meters (220 yards). The centre of Praiano is approximately 1 km (half a mile) from the house.
The closest beach is the striking beach of Marina di Praia, placed in a small valley dug by the sea, where the emerald waters meet the high rocks of the coast.
During the summer there are buses that from Praiano reach the beach every 20 minutes, and that stop very close to Casa Anna.
People from Praiano usually go down to the beach using a scalinatella that reaches an ancient watch tower, and from there they take a charming little street that descends to the sea in about 400 meters (440 yards). This street is cut in the rocks, right on the sea. On their way back they usually take the bus.
Praiano is placed halfway between Positano and Amalfi.
From Praiano you can easily reach the tourist centres on the Amalfi Coast and of the Sorrento Coast, as well as Capri. You won't need a car: the bus stop is just a few meters from the house.
Staying at Casa Anna you will be able to enjoy a vacation in a natural environment of a splendid beauty, and you will also have a base camp to visit Pompeii, Paestum, Naples or the Royal Palace of Caserta. You will be able to visit the famous beaches of the Amalfi Coast and the characteristic artisans' shops, as well as attend the many cultural and artistic happenings that take place throughout the year. For those who enjoy the night life there is plenty to do: piano bars, night clubs, disco and restaurants abound.
Garden is shared with the guests of two nearby small apartments.
The owner of Casa Anna takes care of this garden personally. She is a nice lady that won't miss the chance of offering you a basket of her lemons upon your arrival. She will be happy to have you in her tiny realm every time you would like to, and to make available for you to use garden furniture to relax under the grapevine pergola, outdoor cooking facilities and an external shower.
The Amalfi Coast region
Campania region is the beginning of the 'mezzogiorno'. Translating as the 'midday' the phrase evokes the sun-baked south. And Campania - with its ancient Greek and Roman towns, rumbling volcanoes and glittering blue coastline, at times evokes Classical Greece as much as modern Italy. You could be a million miles from bureaucratic and businesslike Milan.
Throughout much of its history Campania has been at the centre of Western Civilisation's most significant entities. The area was colonised by Ancient Greeks and was within Magna Græcia, until the Roman Republic began to dominate. During the Roman era the area was highly respected as a place of culture by the emperors, where it balanced Greco-Roman culture. The area had many duchies and principalities during the Middle Ages, in the hands of the Byzantine Empire and some Lombards.
It was under the Normans that the smaller independent states were brought together as part of a sizeable European kingdom, known as the Kingdom of Sicily, before the mainland broke away to form the Kingdom of Naples. It was during this period that especially elements of Spanish, French and Aragonese culture touched Campania. Later the area became the central part of the Two Sicilies under the Bourbons, until the Italian unification of 1860 when it became part of the new state Italy.
The capital city of Campania is Naples. Campania is rich in culture, especially in regards to gastronomy, music, architecture, archaeological and ancient sites such as Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum. The name of Campania itself is derived from Latin, as the Romans knew the region as Campania felix, which translates into English as "fortunate countryside". The rich natural sights of Campania make it highly important in the tourism industry, especially along the Amalfi Coast, Cilento Coast, Mount Vesuvius and the island of Capri.
Behind Capo Sottile, on the far slopes of Monte Tre Cavalli, and looking eastwards, there is the little town of Praiano.
This popular seaside resort has kept its character of quiet fishermen's village through the centuries. Located halfway between Amalfi (8 km) and Positano (7 km), Praiano is just one step away from the two most lively villages of the coast. The Sita bus line connects Praiano to Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento. The local orange bus circles around the village and takes you down to the beach and as far as Positano as well.
As a traveller going to Praiano you will appreciate its slow pace. At the same time, the quality of its restaurants as well as the friendly atmosphere of the local cafes, such as Bar del Sole, will not disappoint you. Small as it is, the village does have its own grocery stores and ATM.
The parish church, dedicated to Saint Luke, is located in the upper part of the town, in a spot with a lovely view; the church houses a precious silver figure of Saint Luke.
Praiano's beach is the small, enchanting Marina di Praia, which is situated at the end of the wild Praia valley. The surrounding cliffs have been deeply marked by erosion. On a rocky promontory stands the cylindrical mass of Torre a Mare: a medieval structure which recalls the centuries-old struggle of the area's inhabitants against the attacks of pirates.
