About the home

The spacious modern apartment consists of 2 bedrooms, one of which has a double bed, fitted wardrobe and access to the balcony which has a pool/ sea view and a table and chairs. The second bedroom has 2 single beds, a fitted wardrobe and access to the balcony at the front of the property.
The living room/ dining room has a wide screen TV and DVD player. The dining table seats 6 and there is access to the balcony at the front of the property. The sofa bed can be converted into a sofa bed to sleep two extra people.
The modern and fully fitted kitchen has a gas hob, oven, dishwasher and microwave and has access to the balcony which has a small table and chairs. The modern bathroom has a bath/ shower, sink, toilet and bidet.

The Praia da Luz area

Praia da Luz is situated in the west of the Algarve and offers all the facilities for an excellent holiday. The safe and sandy beach is one of the best in the Algarve and is set against the towering rugged rocks and white cottages and villas of the town. Orginally Praia da Luz was an active fishing village but has now adapted itself to the needs of modern life while retaining its charm and character. The village has many superb restaurants and bars suitable to all tastes and there are enough small shops dotted along the streets to amuse everyone As well as the many golfing opportunities nearby, Praia da Luz offers a wide range of sporting opportunities. On the beach there are various water sports on offer in the summer including windsurfing, boating and banana boat rides. The Slide and Splash water park is just 30 minutes away by car or there is regular courtesy bus service from Praia da Luz. The beach at Sagres is very popular with surfers and scuba divers and fishing trips can be arranged from Lagos. Tennis can be played in Luz and horse riding can be enjoyed at a nearby riding school. For fitness fanatics there is the health and fitness centre at the Estrella da Luz hotel which offers a gym, fitness classes and a beauty salon.

“Exceeded our high expectations” This apartment has everything you need. It's spacious, very clean, tastefuly decorated. It's on a hill so a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean from the main bedroom. This apartment gets natural light all day, the living rooms in the morning, main bedroom in the afternoon. Opens up to a cool breeze throughout. Has shutters on all doors and windows so light not a problem for sleeping, and keeps the apartment cool. The pool area is lovely, and the pool is lovely to spend time in. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in easy walking distance. Also a Spar and supermarket is close by. The owner was extremely accommodating and helpful. Both she and the manager were very easy and pleasant to deal with.

“Beautiful apartment in super location” We have just returned from a lovely holiday here; the apartment is lovely, clean and airy with all facilities (eg.washing machine, dishwasher, tv, dvd, even a wee programmable safe). There are balconies front and back, allowing you to sit outside in sun or shade at any time of day. Security is good, with all patio doors having lockable shutters and doors and a double lock on the front door. The location within Luz is good, outside the town centre but with the beach, supermarkets and cafes within easy walking distance; the walk back is uphill, though, and may be more difficult for those with mobility problems. The apartment complex is well maintained, the pool is very clean and the gardens well-kept; the staff were easy to contact in case of any problems, with an office on-site; the apartment was cleaned for us mid-week and there was a 'welcome pack' of tea, coffee, fresh milk and bottled water on our arrival. Alison Amoss was extremely helpful prior to our visit, answering all email queries very quickly and providing us with a lot of information which helped make our journey and holiday stress-free. Luz is a lovely family destination, low-key but with plenty of activities available if you so wished. The beach is clean and with lovely rock pools as well as sand. We took a dolphin-viewing trip which was lovely and went to the Slide and Splash water park - there is a bus service to the water park which meant that we didn't need to hire a car during our stay, however we would love to explore the area by car when the children are older as it is very beautiful. We would love to return!

“Gorgeous apartment.” Just spent a lovely week in praia Da Luz, the apartment was fabulous!, it was a real home from home, it had everything we needed and more, beautifully furnished to a very high standard. A lovely welcome from the letting agent. We loved the resort, it is a family resort but pretty quiet and low key, which suited us just fine. Amazing beach and very clean, this part of the Algarve is stunning. Be sure to get a guide book and explore. Alison was great to deal with and we would love to stay in her lovely place again. “Fantastic apartment!” We stayed here for 2 weeks in Aug. The pictures do not do the place justice, the apartment is very spacious and has everything a family could need (washing machine, British tv for the children). Having looked around the area these aparments could possibly be the best; this is because they are very nice and there are not too many for the pool area. Some developments have hundreds of units for one pool &they seemed a little crowded. We stayed peak season and it was never crowded but there were other families to talk to if you so chose. The pool is nice with a baby pool for little ones. Luz is a lovely town for families. The beach is not big so we did catch the bus to Lagos a few days so we could run along the beach there (not everyone enjoys this on holiday). Make sure if you are on the bus you get a travel card from the parish building, one card can be used for the whole family and halves the cost. If you want to see further than Lagos and Luz you may like to rent a car but we did not. The walk to the beach is a few minutes (the apartment has a sea view) but inclined on the way back. We were fine with a buggy but elderly parents may not find it enjoyable. The supermarkets in Luz are very expensive but Lagos is very close by bus or taxi and I would recommend you stocked up there. We would definitely return.
