About the home

Casa Brisa do Mar means 'house of the sea air' - and this is something this villa lives up to as the sea views are spectacular. The villa has a private pool with plenty of sun beds, and there is a large bbq and dining terrace, perfect for those alfresco lunches and suppers whilst taking in the views and sunsets!

The villa is furnished to a very high standard, has Sky TV, wirelessinternet and the bedrooms can either be made up as two twins or one double and a twin. The pool is 4 x 9 metres with a shallow end of 0.5 metres with steps, making it ideal for children and parents. The villa is located in a very convenient location, being less than a 10 minute walk to the beach and town of Luz, with plenty of restaurants on the way.

Casa Brisa do Mar is furnished to be a true home from home as opposed to a holiday let (the owner lives there for part of the year) so you will find everything that you need for a family or couples' holiday here. The lounge/dining room is large and very light and airy, and makes the best of the spectacular sea views. The kitchen is well equipped and this, along with the bbq, means you'll find everything that you need for in villa- or alfresco dining.

Casa Brisa do Mar is as much about outdoor living as it is indoor living as it truly is a lovely place to stay. The pool is large for a two bedroom villa, has spectacular views and the dining/bbq terrace is a superb place to relax or enjoy a beer/glass of wine.

The Algarve / West Algarve region

Luz is a bustling resort located in the heart of the Western Algarve. The town has lots of restaurants, bars, and there's a great mix of both 'tourist' restaurants (but not at high prices) and local Portuguese fare available (which are very cheap, especially the wine!). Luz has a large beach, which isn't crowded even in the high season, and with it being flanked by huge cliffs is a spectacular place to soak up the sun.

There are many bars and restaurants along the large promenade (a great place to have a post or pre dinner walk) and there are a large variety of water sports available in both Luz and nearby Lagos (which is just a five minute drive away for those looking for museums, culture and a sense of history of this fascinating area of the Algarve)

The Praia da Luz area

Couples and families will never run out of things to do here. The scenery is stunning, there are numerous watersports at Luz and the surfing up on the West Coast (20 minutes away) is world renowned. Horseriding, fishing, walking, children's theme parks and of course the beach life is all close to hand and a five minute drive inland, takes you to the 'real' Portugal where time has almost stood still.

If you're a golfer, then you're spoilt for choice as Boavista Championship golf course is just five minutes away, and there are numerous other golf courses within a 15-30 minute drive, including the new Nick Faldo course. Also at Boavista you'll find a health club/spa for a bit of pampering and tennis for those who like something a little more energetic!

Luz is located a 50 minute, easy motorway drive from the nearest airport, Faro which is served by most of the budget/scheduled airlines across Europe. For visitors from further afield, Lisbon airport is about two hours away.

“Great villa - Perfect for the family” As a regular visitor to the Algarve (with my wife and 6-month daughter), Casa Brisa do Mar was perfect for our needs. It's very quiet (at the end of a cul-de-sac) and the accomodation and pool are excellent. The property is well furnished and is very comfortable - we settled immediately on arrival. The pool is unheated, but in the Algarve heat, that was something of a blessing at times! Luz itself wouldn't go down as my favourite place in the Algarve, but if you're looking for a high-quality villa that is quiet, secure and comfortable, then I can certainly recommend Casa Brisa do Mar. I also should make special mention of Caroline Page from Prime Algarve Rentals (contactable through holidaylettings.co.uk) who was responded to all our emails very quickly and was a constant source of support throughout. Even when our microwave broke, she arranged for a replacement to be delivered the same day. Their service is as recommended as the villa itself. Overall, we had a great stay. If you're looking to wind down and relax - and aren't too bothered about dining out in the evenings (as there's better places than Luz for this), then Casa Brisa do Mar is a great place to stay.

"We stayed at Casa Brisa do Mar earlier this year - and what a wonderful place it was. As there were just the two of us, it is very difficult to find a two bedroom villa with a private pool and this really ticked all the boxes. The views are truly glorious, and we hardly went out to eat whilst we were there, as we just loved the large built in bbq and dining terrace (as well as having a lovely time, by eating in we saved so much money!). Would definitely recommend and we have already booked for 2009."
