The Praia da Luz / Estrela da Luz area
6km west of Lagos lays Praia da Luz, only an hour from Faro, but a world away. Praia da Luz is a charming village of whitewashed villas, old fishermen’s cottages and a generous sprinkling of restaurants, shops and bars.
It is a relaxing family resort whose sheltered waters and excellent beach side watersports centre make it particularly popular with windsurfers. The beach itself is soft and sandy and is set against the backdrop of the imposing granite cliffs of the Rocha Negra.
There is a wide array of activities that can be enjoyed during your stay, including ZooMarine at Guia, Lagos Zoo, Slide and Splash as well as numerous Golf Courses within 15-30 minutes drive.

Faro is very well served by all the major airlines. EasyJet has direct flights from Belfast, Bristol, East Midlands, Gatwick, Glasgow, Luton, Newcastle and Stansted. BA, Aer Lingus, Monarch and TAP Air all have have regular flights to and from Faro.
The best value car hire company from Faro airport is Luz Car. www.luzcar.com What you get quoted is what you pay - no additional premiums when you arrive, no additional charges for baby seats and/or additional drivers. Also, as they are not one of the large car firms, you can pick up and leave your car in the airport car park, rather than checking it back in further down the airport road - avoiding the minibus trip in courtesy of Europcar, Hertz, Avis et al!
Journey time from Faro to the apartment is 55 mins - 60 mins door to door. A very straight forward drive along the new A22 motorway, which has now eased the route into the western Algarve. Full instructions will be provided on confirmation of booking.
A car is useful to explore the Alagrve, but by no means essential. Taxis can be organised to pick up our guests from the airport and taken directly to our apartment. Many of our guests have remained in Praia da Luz for the duration of their stay due to the large number of facilities available once you have arrived. Cost for a taxi each way is circa €80.

I have just returned from a long weekend at this wonderful apartment with friends and I must say it is perfect in every way. The apartment itself is brilliant with plenty of space. We had 5 of us staying but easily space for a few more. The bed was comfy and the shower on the second floor was a perfect way to wake up after a night enjoying the local night life! Despite being February there was plenty of bars and restaurants open and although not busy, the restaurants were busy enough to have a great Atmosphere. All 3 nights we ate out and the food was excellent. The local Portuguese place in Luz doesn't look the best from the outside but the food was beyond words. Worthy of the Michelin mention. We spent the second night in neighboring Lagos enjoying equally great food and experiencing a lively nightlife. Saturday we opted for a curry and the Luz curry house heading down to the beach was excellent quality and excellent value. 3 of the group played Golf on the Friday and plenty of choice. Book through the resort front desk as we got a great deal. £40 for round and a buggy! We went to Parque Da Floresta and despite the standard of our golf being poor, the course was good and we enjoyed the round. Great baguettes delivered to the first tee for us as well. All in all an excellent break in an excellent venue. I will be definitely going back. It is perfect for a lads weekend like ours who like to play golf but as perfect for families, couples looking for a week or two in the Algarve as well. |

Stayed here with a group of friends for a long weekend. This top floor villa was well presented and the views of the sea from the main balcony/terrace were amazing. Very modern furnishings and extremely clean. The underground parking was great. During our stay we went to some really nice restaurants and bars which were all in walking distance. Lagos the main town centre was only a 10 min ride by taxi. I would recommend a local indian restaurant called Pashmina's, the food there is really good. The on site gym is good. On the whole a great villa, great location, clear blue skies and really nice weather. Highly recommend. |

This was my first visit to Portugal and I thoroughly enjoyed the 'laid back' feel and discovered its a genuine delight to wind down within such wonderful surroundings. With a beautiful sea view from the balcony, access to swimming pools (including indoor), gym, and great restaurants just a few minutes walk away, we couldn't have pickeda better place to stay! The property itself is more than ample room for large groups of family and friends and is child friendly. Modern home furnishings throughout were a great, which added to the holiday. We had a great time in lagos, would definitely recommend it. Gets more lively in the evening, and supped some delicious local Port- also recommended!! |

All Prices include linen, towels and maid service twice a week. A resort pass can be purchased at the price of €10 per person per week, which will provide access to the bus service into Lagos as well as beach towels. Please note that the bus service may not run druing low season.
Cots and extra beds can be hired at the price of €35 per week.
A 25% deposit is required to confirm your booking, the balance is to be paid within 8 weeks of your arrival.
