About the home

This gorgeous villa is located in a quiet residential area on an elevated site overlooking the village and bay of Praia da Luz. The closest village facilities - supermarket, restaurants, bank - are 5 minutes walk from the villa. The beach is 10 minutes walk from the villa where a wide variety of watersports are available, and there is tennis just 100 metres away, at the end of the road. The nearest Golf Course is Boa Vista, less than 5 minutes drive away.

This spacious split level villa is beautifully furnished with all the requirements for a great family holiday. The 3 bedrooms are at the upper level while the living area and kitchen is at the lower level with patio doors opening
onto the garden and pool area.

The villa is on a large end plot with a very generously sized garden & swimming pool, and an outside shower. The sunny patio, pool and garden are accessed from the lounge/dining area and also from the kitchen, and there is a pretty bougainvillea-covered pergola at the side of the villa.

Two of the bedrooms have verandas with lovely sea views.

The Algarve / West Algarve region

The Western Algarve has a spectacularly beautiful coastline with long golden beaches and coves dotted with bizarre rock formations and grottoes backed by towering cliffs.

A short drive inland reveals pine forests, olive groves and small traditional villages largely unchanged for generations and the Monchique mountains provide amazing views of the whole South Western coastline.

The near perfect climate is the icing on the cake, making it one of the post popular holiday destinations in Europe. Enjoying 3000 hours of sunshine a year, the summer heat is tempered by gentle ocean breezes and the mild winter days are usually warm with cooler nights.

The Praia da Luz / Acacias area

Praia da Luz , sheltered by the Black Rock on one side and guarded by Forteleza da Luz on the other, and evidence of Carthaginian and Roman ruins verify its unique position on the Western Algarve coast

Today, Luz is an overgrown fishing village but the people retain that genuine, welcoming friendliness that so much associated with the region. A lovely palm fringed promenade leads to the beach and the safe, sandy beach in Luz has a blue flag for quality and facilities. Watersports of all kinds are available at the beach, including an RYA Training Centre.

The village has a number of small supermarkets and shops, chemist, banks, post office etc. and there are many bars and an excellent choice of good restaurants.

Just 5 Km to the east is the lovely town of Lagos, much of which is surrounded by ancient walls and fortifications inside which are windy cobbled streets filled with shops, bars and restaurants. The attractive waterfront promenade is lined with palm trees and the large new marina is accessed by way of a handy pedestrian bridge.

The pretty, smaller fishing villages of Burgau and Salema are a short drive to the west and there are miles and miles of coastal and cliff top paths all along the coastline which are very popular with walkers and nature lovers.

There is a regular bus service linking Luz with Lagos, Burgau and Salema.

Faro Airport is 80 km from the villa. The drive is very straightforward and mostly on the A22 motorway.

Many cheap flights are available from U.K. and Ireland to Faro - and Arrival Day at the Villa is flexible to help take advantage of airline deals.

We can assist with very reasonable car hire rates

Transfers from Faro can be arranged by a reputable company for approx. Euro 80 each way.

Lisbon Airport is a 3 hour journey from the villa, mostly on motorway.
