Safe sandy Praia da Luz beach is 10 minutes walk away, and restaurants and shopping just 5 minutes away. There are many varied activities nearby including watersports & water theme parks, horse riding, deep sea fishing, golf, scuba diving and walking and of course relaxing on the beaches. A car is not necessary but is recommended so you can explore the lovely area, the West Coast is stunning for beaches and views and inland Monchique and the old towns are worth exploring.

The Algarve / West Algarve region
The Algarve has a very temperate climate so it is neither too hot nor too cold. The cooling influence of the Atlantic in summer ensures it is not too hot. The local town of Lagos is steeped in history and the old walled part of the town and the slave market are worth visiting. Further along the coast there are similar interesting old towns, ie Silves.
Praia da Luz / The Ocean Club area
There is a weekly farmers market in Lagos by the bus station, and monthly markets in various towns along the Algarve. (see the local free magazine when you arrive for all info). The fruit and fish market is a must to visit either to buy, or to go to the restaurant on the top floor for views of Lagos. There are places to visit for all ages. There are water parks, zoomarine, and the sand sculptures i(September) as well as seeing the area by horse riding , 4x4 driving, or boat trips.
How to get there
Fly to Faro from most British airports: Airlines include Easyjet, Flybe, Monach, BA, Thomas Cook, Thomsons. Directions to the apartment will be sent on receipt of final payment. Journey from airport approx 1 hour good shuttle bus from airport if car hire not desired

Large table and chairs on balcony for eating "outside" or walk into Luz village for a large selection of restaurants.
Further details outdoors: The Club complex is part of The Ocean Club. There is large pool surrounded by gardens and tennis courts with space to relax or room for children to play. There are also 4 other pools, including 1 for adults, 1 for children and a small heated pool for winter. There is ample parking adjacent to the apartment and the bedrooms look out up the hillside. Luz has several supermarkets and many excellent bars and restaurants. 5km away the old historic town of Lagos has shops, local Portuguese restaurants, lively squares and the marina. The Ocean Club has 24 hour reception for help or information located in the centre of the village.
