Our apt is beautifully laid out, and has 3 double bedrooms which will sleep 6 comfortably whether it be a family or a group of friends on a golfing holiday or a spa weekend. The apt is fully air conditioned and in the winter has under floor heating. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the modern needs of today. There is a large terrace off the main lounge, which has seating for 6 for al fresco dining.There are 3 more terraces, one off the kitchen (which overlooks the children's' pool and gardens); one off the master bedroom; and one off the twin bedrooms. We have enjoyed lovely family holidays there, and the children love the pools, and also the local beach. In fact, the kids are making arrangements to go back next summer already!! Everyone who has stayed has been very pleased with the apt, the spaciousness and comfort it provides. The apt is on one level, and is spread over quite a big area. The lounge and dining area is quite large, and there's plenty of room for everyone to chill out, after a long hot day in the sun, or before heading out to dinner. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, and the en suite has a lovely bath, great for a bit of me time. There is also a full family bathroom, which again is large, bright and comfortable.

The apt is a large, 3 bedroom apartment on the first floor, overlooking the swimming pools and gardens and the Hugo Beaty Bar. The three bedrooms are all airy, comfortable rooms. The kitchen is fully fitted with all appliances, and has a terrace which overlooks the swimming pools. The large terrace off the lounge area has dining for 6, ideal for al fresco dining, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. The seating area in the lounge comfortably seats 7 adults, having 3 comfortable sofas. There is an LCD tv and dvd player in the lounge area also. The dining table will comfortably extend to seat 8-10 people.

This complex has something to suit everyone. The family pool has a paddling pool for the little ones in the family, and there is another pool outside which is great for the older ones. Inside there is also a pool which is an added benefit in the winter months. There is a state of the art gym which also has classes e.g. spinning for those of you who like to keep fit. The Elmis health and beauty spa caters for all your pampering needs from facials to body treatments ( I would highly recommend the deep tissue body massage).
Also on site there is a pool bar where you can get light lunches and snacks drinks and ice creams throughout the day.
The Hugo Beaty Bar serves food all day from 9am to 9pm. It is a great place to have a pre-dinner drink or one of their great cocktails. There is a tennis court and rackets and balls are available at reception. There is also a children's club in the high season, details at reception. Trips to Slide & Splash, Zoo Marine, etc can be booked through reception. The resort has a bus which takes you into the town of Lagos, again details at reception. Lagos is the nearest big town, and is very quaint and has lovely streets and shopping areas, well worth a visit.
In the Hugo Beaty Bar, there is an Internet room, which is available at no charge during open hours of the Bar. For those who like to bring their own laptop, internet access is available also in the Bar

The Algarve / West Algarve region
The Algarve's consistent climate is the best in Portugal, with more than 250 days of sunshine a year. It is also well known for its beautiful sandy beaches on its 160 km of coastline. It is fast becoming one of Europes most popular holiday destinations with plenty to do for all the family, including golf , water sports and themed parks. There are also plenty of beautiful old fishing villages to explore for example Sagres and Burgeau.
This year, we took a trip on the sail boat (details at reception) which was a day to remember, the kids loved it! The trip took about 4 1/2 hours, and lunch and wine and water were all included. We saw the grottos(caves) and the kids got to swim in the sea, it was really deep.
The Praia da Luz / Estrela da Luz area
Praia da Luz is a beautiful little town with a blue flag beach and a promenade with restaurants and souvenir shops.
Estrela da Luz is a modern complex only a 5 to 10 min walk to the blue flag beach. It has a pool side bar and the Hugo Beatty bar which serves food and drink all day.
There is a fully equipped gym and health spa with lots of different body and facial treatments.
The local supermarket has all the ingredients needed for self catering and also stocks most of the daily English and Irish newspapers.
We love all the restaurants in and around Praia da Luz, but special mention must be made of The Lime Tree (international), Amici(Italian), and The Dolphin (South African). All of these are within 10 minutes walk of the apartment.
There are water sports off the beach, including banana boats, the doughnuts and jet skis, plenty to keep you active and tire you out. The beach is very safe for swimming, and is also very sheltered. You can also explore along the rocks, its great fun.
