The Algarve / West Algarve region
Throughout the Algarve, old traditions mingle with more cosmopolitan ways of life in a landscape of outstanding natural beauty. A land of contrasts, of sheer cliffs and rolling hills and beautiful beaches. There are vast stretches of fine golden sand, extensive dunes and sandy coves backed by spectacular cliffs and rock formations all along the Algarve coast. The Algarve has much to offer the discerning traveller and there is sure to be an Algarve holiday villa to suit your particular tastes and holiday plans.
For those looking for activity holidays, the Algarve is one of Europe’s premier golfing destinations whilst the tennis schools offer fantastic facilities. Water sports are second to none with waterskiing, scuba-diving, big game fishing and dolphin spotting trips available at most beach resorts.

It is located in the western Algarve away from the main centres; an area that is generally more peaceful although the new road has made access from Faro a whole lot easier. For golfers, the Boavista Golf course isa short drive away and also nearby are Palmares and Parque da Floresta Golf courses. The small unspoilt, fishing village of Burgau and beach is just 4km away, nestled on the edge of the national park.
The historic town of Lagos is a short drive away and has an extensive range of shops, restaurants and bars and in the old town there are many historical sites and intricate architecture.
