About the home

* Casa Solinho is situated in a residential area on the outskirts of the pretty resort of Praia da Luz, only a few kilometres from the quaint fishing village of Burgau. Just a short drive takes you to the historic, walled town of Lagos, with modern marina, promenade and numerous restaurants and shops.
* The villa has a large, airy living room with patio doors onto the sunbathing/pool area. Around the pool there are plenty of sunloungers, tables and chairs for making the most of the sun, as well as a covered area for retreating from the heat of the midday sun!
* Numerous golf courses, the nearest being Boavista and Parque da Floresta, make this an ideal location for golfers.

* The master bedroom benefits from a king size bed, en-suite bathroom and patio doors onto the pool terrace. Two further bedrooms have twin beds, one having an en-suite shower room, the other having patio doors onto the pool terrace and a shower room next door.
* Large fitted kitchen with breakfast bar and separate laundry room.
* Interior has high ceilings which keep the villa cool and give a great feeling of space.

Further details outdoors:
The property has a large, walled garden with gates for security and a carport for one car, with plenty of room for additional cars on the private driveway.

The pool is approx 8 metres x 4 metres ( depth 0.9 - 1.8 metres ) and has a salt water filtration system rather than chlorine. Nicer to swim in and kinder to the skin!

* Please note that we use a local management company, based in Burgau, who speak both English and Portuguese, so our guests always have someone on hand if any problems should arise during their stay.

The Algarve / West Algarve region

The Algarve has long been a popular holiday destination, with it's sunny climate, fabulous beaches and dramatic coastline! The Western Algarve has all this and more, being generally quieter and more laid back than the larger resorts closer to Faro - ideal for a more relaxing holiday, lazing in the sun, enjoying the many coastal walks or making the most of those beautiful beaches!
The Algarve people are naturally friendly and welcoming, and eating out is always a pleasure with such a wide variety of excellent restaurants in the area.

The Praia da Luz / Montinhos da Luz area

Praia da Luz has a lovely safe sandy beach, with a pretty promenade and restaurants overlooking the sea, whilst the small fishing village of Burgau has recently been awarded the "blue flag" for it's beach.
Lagos has lots to offer the more adventurous, with watersports, boat trips, dolphin discovery tours and fishing trips. It also has a rich maritime history - ships set sail here on voyages of discovery to the New World in the 15th Century.
Waterparks are a great way to cool off in the heat of the summer and can easily be reached by car in around 30mins.

“A place in the sun...” My partner and I stayed at Casa Solinho in Sept this year. From the initial enquiry onwards the owners were very helpful by advising us on places to visit and answering the many questions that we had, as well as providing contact numbers while we were in Portugal in case we needed help with anything. The holiday itself was fantastic; the villa was stunning, secure (gated) very clean, and spacious located in a quiet residential area nestled between Burgau and Praia du Luz. The outside grounds were as lovely as the interior with gorgeous colourful scented flowers, sun loungers, two seating areas with a BBQ and a pool that just invites you to jump in! We would recommend hiring a car as although you can walk into Praia du Luz and have a restaurant/pub at bottom of estate, there are just so many beautiful villages and towns in surrounding areas that we would highly recommend that you visit. The holiday was just wonderful and we would definitely recommend Casa Solinho if you're looking for sun, sand and great memories!
