This apartment is part of the brand new Estrela da Luz resort situated in the centre of Luz seaside village. Luz is about 10 minutes drive west from the historical port town of Lagos and less than an hours drive from Faro Airport along the new motorway.
The apartment accommodation includes a double bedroom with en suite, two twin bedrooms, separate bathroom, modern fully fitted kitchen and a huge living / dining area. The apartment is on the first floor accessed by lift and stairs. The resort facilities are top of the range and include 2 outdoor heated pools, indoor heated pool, kid’s pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, spa treatment rooms, fully equipped gym, restaurant, bars, Steve Davis club room. There is a separate activity area with basketball / 5-a-side court, tennis court and kids playground. The apartment is within 5 minutes walk of the famous Luz bay beach. Praia da Luz / Estrela da Luz area
The Estrela da Luz resort is located right in the beachside village of Luz and so everything is on your doorstep - restaurants, bars, shops and of course the beach is within 200m. The Praia da Luz beach is a beautiful sandy bay shaded by cliffs to the east and smooth rock outcrop to the west. Great waves for body boarding and plenty of restaurants and cafes within easy reach. The village itself is an old fishing village which has retained its old style charm. The atmosphere is always relaxed and the locals are very hospitable. There is a great selection of restaurants with seafood and other specialities.
Luz is an ideal holiday destination and has everything - great weather, beautiful beach, lovely restaurants, and all necessary facilities. The village has a relaxed atmosphere and the locals are very welcoming. If you want more lively nightlife then Lagos has a great range of bustling out-door restaurants and bars where tourists from all around come to eat and drink. The area is a golfer’s paradise with 3 top class courses within 30 minutes. Everyone that has been to stay at this new apartment so far has had a brilliant time in Luz and Lagos. There's so much to do there, but even if you just want to relax in the apartment and use the resort facilities you won't be disappointed.
The port town of Lagos is just 10 minutes drive away (€6 taxi) with its marina and old town centre which has a huge variety of shops, restaurants and bars. Lagos is lively and great to visit at night for food, drink and a stroll through the cobble streets. The shops are great for presents and souvenirs especially local ceramics and jewellery.
How to get there
Estrela da Luz is about 80 km from Faro airport and the journey takes about fifty minutes by the A22 motorway. Leave the A22 at exit 1 (last exit). Straight through the first roundabout. Take the 1st exit ( right) at the second roundabout towards Vila De Bispo. Ignore the first left turn to Luz (straight after Boavista Golf) and take the next left turn for Luz (after the camp site) which you will see on the right had side. As you enter Luz the road goes downhill towards the sea. Estrela de Luz is on your right. It is a distinctive orange / terracotta colour.
If you wish transport can be arranged for you to and from the airport with a local Luz taxi company.

Further details indoors: All bedrooms have dressing tables and built-in wardrobes. Main bedroom has large double sink en suite with bath/shower, and balcony with sea views. The two twin bedrooms are very large with patio style windows. Electric shutters on all bedroom windows. The are three balconies in the apartment: a large balcony from the living area, south facing with sea view and seating for 6, a balcony from the main bedroom overlooking the pools, and a balcony from the kitchen. Satellite TV has BBC, ITV and Sky news. Sky sports available in the huge Beatty bar within the resort. The bedrooms and the living area have individually controlled air conditioning which is a must during the hotter times. For the cooler evenings of the off-season there is under floor heating which keeps the apartments nice and cosy. The kitchen is fully integrated with hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, and all utensils for 6 or more people. There is parking directly outside the apartment or in the underground car park with lift access up to the 1st floor apartment. The apartment has to be seen to be appreciated, the accommodation is huge, the facilities are excellent and the views are brilliant.
Further details outdoors: The apartment is part of the brand new Estrela da Luz resort built by Oceanico. All that you need for a great holiday is available in the resort but there is so much more to see and do in the village of Luz, nearby Lagos and greater costal region of the western Algave. There are 3 pools, one for adults, a family pool and an indoor pool. There is a kids pool also. The Hugo Beatty bar and restaurant is great for lunch and evening drinks. The poolside bar is open all day too for snacks and drinks. The Elemis Health and Beauty spa is excellent with great staff and a range of treatments. The other indoor facilities at Estrela da Luz are what makes this an ideal location for winter or spring/Autumn trips. The indoor heated pool, Jacuzzi, saunas are great, and the gym is state of the art. The reception staff are very helpful and can organise activities such as golf, horse riding, etc at discount rates. There is a shuttle bus which runs from the resort to Lagos, Meia Praia, and the 2 main local golf clubs Boavista and Palmares. Luz is an ideal location if you play golf with 3 excellent courses within 30 minutes and many more beyond. There is a kids club during the summer which has been a great success and keeps the kids active and amused with activities for all ages. The kids club is separate from the pools/gardens so the resort is great for those without kids too with plenty of peaceful areas.
Further details
There is 24 hour reception available at the resort to assist you throughout your stay. Reception staff will provide you with key cards and all necessary infromation about the apartment and the resort. A welcome pack (food, milk, water, fruit, wine, etc) can be provided in the apartment for when you arrive. This is especially useful if you arrive to the apartment late in the evening. The apartment will be prepared for your arrival with towels and linen. The rates include for weekly towel and linen change and apartment cleaning.
Conditions
We look for 25% of the total cost to secure the booking at time of reservation. The balance of cost would then be due 8 weeks before your arrival.

Well we have just come back from a very relaxing week at your lovely apartment. It was an ideal location for the type of holiday we all needed at this time of year. Although the weather could have been a little better it didnt stop us playing endless tennis and the boys even managed a day's surfing. I managed to have a couple of pampering sessions in the spa as well as making full use of the indoor pool. The young man at Reception was exceptionally helpful and pleasant. I'm sure you must look forward to retreating there yourselves as often as you can!
