Praia da Luz / Estrela da Luz area
Estrella da Luz is a luxury resort which only opened in March 2005. It is situated less than 200 metres from the beach in the traditional village of Praia da Luz. Lagos which is only 6km away boasts a beautiful marina and the fabulous Meia Praia beach with over 4 kilometres of white sand.
The area is renowned for its Golf Courses. Why not try the nearby Boa Vista (10 min drive), the Palamares or the Parque de Floresta on the road to Sagres. Discounts can be obtained by booking through reception.
How to get there
Fly to Faro Airport - Estrella da Luz is 80km (approx 50 mins drive) from the airport (mostly motorway) There are always Taxis available charging between €80 and €100 for up to 4 people. Ask first !!! There is also a train service from Faro to Lagos and a 6km Taxi ride from there will cost approx €10.
If you are driving: From Faro, take the A22 in the direction of Lisboa and Portimao. Take Exit 1 off the A22, signposted for Lagos. Straight through the first roundabout and right off the second roundabout heading for Vila Da Bispo/Sagres.
Ignore the first left hand turn for Luz just after Boa Vista Golf. Instead take the second turn left signposted for Luz (after the camping ground on the right had side). As you enter Luz the road goes downhill towards the sea Estrela de Luz is on your right near the small national school. Call to reception where they will provide you with all the necessary information, your key and a remote control for the underground parking.

Further details outdoors: The complex itself boasts two outdoor pools, one for families and the other for adults only. The Gazebo poolside bar offers snacks, drinks and ice creams from 12-6pm. In addition there is an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi. A fully equipped gym plus a health and beauty spa offering all forms of treatments from facials to full body massages further complement this amazing complex. The large Hugo Beatty Bar offering snacks and meals all day long also has a private snooker room for those so inclined.
Just across from the complex are the tennis courts and basketball/football courts. The quaint village of Luz is only a short stroll away with a wide selection of restaurants and shops on your doorstep. The beautiful unspoilt Luz beach is only 250 metres from the complex.
There are numerous golf courses in the vicinity with BoaVista Golf the closest (approx 3km). The bustling fishing town of Lagos is only 6km away.
It is possible to purchase a Resort Pass which includes towels for use around the pools and health spa plus free use of the courtesy coach to and from Lagos (approx 6 times a day). The pass costs €10 per person per week and is available from Reception on arrival.
A kids club runs during the summer months for an additional charge. Please check with reception for full details.

What an amazing apartment. Bigger than our house back home. We just did not want to leave. Perfect location for our young family with gated access to all areas making it perfectly safe and very relaxing. Local restaurants were fab particularly the local Chinese takeaway.
