Apartment Mar Azul is in beautiful family friendly Luz with beaches, bars,restaurants and quality food shops all within 5 minutes walk. Lively Lagos with its marina, nightlife, shops and daily fish market is only 10 minutes away by car and there are many golf course within 20 minutes drive.
Our 2 bedroom apartment is spacious and can sleep upto 5 people comfortably, it is finished to very high standards, and has lovely sea views from its south facing balconies to watch the workd go by with that glass of wine. The apartment is ideal for families and those wanting a beach holiday or for those wanting lots of golf action and sightseeing in the Algarve
There are 2 bedrooms (one double, one twin) both with fitted wardrobes. There is a family bathroom plus an en suite. There's a fully equipped kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher, breakfast bar, large dining and lounge areas with satellite TV (limited channels)and DVD. We also have a games/toy chest for everyone to use as well as a great slection of books and dvds to watch.

The interior is modern, light and airy and well appointed to meet the needs of all ages. There is seating in the lounge for upto 6 people, together with a pleasant dining area with a table and 6 chairs as well as a tv (with limited satallite channels) and dvd player. The kitchen is fully equipped if you prefer to eat in (with a freezer, cooker, microwave, toaster and dishawsher ). There is also a washing machine and clothes dryer for outside. The family bathroom is fully equipped with bath, shower and bidet, and one bderoom has an en suite with separate shower. All in all it is a well appointed and above all spacious apartment - with everything you would need (we even have cool boxes there for those essential picnics).
The apartment is south facing and so is ideal for sun lovers.
The apartment has shutters to keep it cool in the summer months and oil filled radiators for those winter months. A lift and stairs lead to the apartment- so the apartment is ideal for those who are less mobile or with pushchairs.

The modern and exclusive development is served by a large swimming pool, a children's pool, with extensive sun bathing area and free sun loungers, a children's play area, and food shopping very close by on foot.
Mar Azul is situated on the middle of 3 floors with excellent views and there is a lift or stairs to choose from. There is ample parking and many restaurants and bars nearby.The apartment is within easy walking distance of the blue flag beach (with watersports during the summer). The historical town of Lagos is only 5km away. Here you will find a marina offering a variety of boat trips up and down the coast for dolphin watching, grotto trips and surfing excursions.. The town has an excellent choice of restaurants and bars, and bustling nightclubs for the energetic. Further west are some of the finest and least crowded beaches in the Algarve, including Sagres (for surfing). There are also water parks,the mountain spa of Monchique and Cape Vincent to be explored or Lisbon only 3 hours away
Water Related Activities
Water- related sports and activities are available locally including: water skiing, jet skiing, sailing and all types of surfing. Luz is an excellent place to learn to dive, with a choice of local dive schools which train to the internationally recognised PADI certificate standard. Big Game is available in Florida style game fishing boats, and there are many boat trips along the coastline. Surfers will note that the apartment is only a short drive from the excellent surfing beaches on the Algarve's west coast.
Golf
The Algarve is a golfers' paradise. There are many courses within easy reach. The newest Boa Vista is 2 km away. Parque de Floresta and Palmeras are close by, and Penina (designed by Henry Cotton) all 20 minutes drive away. Parque de Floresta also boasts a complex for all the families needs.
Getting Around
Praia da Luz is approximately 50 minutes drive down the A22 motorway from Faro Airport. A car is not necessary around Luz, but is recommended for sight seeing along the Algarve. Car hire is available at Faro Airport (through many Uk websites), you can also hire a taxi for airport pick up and drop off for around £60 each way. There is a local bus service, with the bus stop 2-3 minutes walk away, next to the taxi rank. A taxi into Lagos for the evening is around £9 or the bus in about £1

The Algarve / West Algarve region
The Algarve is well known for its fabulous beaches and inviting climate. In the summer the area is hot with a wonderful breeze from the Atlantic. In the spring and autumn the climate is ideal for golf, tennis and all holiday activities. In the winter the weather allows golf to be played all year round.
This western area of the Algarve is quieter and less developed than the big resorts nearer to Faro.
The Praia da Luz area
Luz is a small village in typical Portuguese style with whitewashed buildings and cobbled streets. The village also has a 17century coastal fort now a restaurant with spectacular views. The church of Nossa Senhora da Luz (Our lady of the light) from which the village takes its name is set within the centre. The village boasts a great selection of restaurants and bars, as well as a range of shops and supermarkets. All are within a 5-10 minute walk.
The St James development is in a quiet location in the village, just 400m to the beach or a sandy cove. All watersports are available here. The coastal walking and cycle path starts about 200m from ther apartment.

The apartment Mar Azul (Sea View) is situated in the pretty resort of Luz only 50 minutes drive from Faro Airport on the A22. You can either hire a car at the airport or book it in advance in England. All the major companies are available here. Alternatively you can hire a taxi from the airport at approximately £50 each way.
Lisbon airport is a longer drive, approximately 3-4 hours, again mainly motorway.

Payment is accepted in sterling or euros. The rates include bed linen and bathroom towels and mats. There is a non refundable deposit to pay of £100 per week to secure the booking, and the balance is due 8 weeks prior to your stay, together with a damage waiver of £100 (which will be banked) and which is refundable on your return (once the apartment has been checked).
The changeover day is flexible. The apartment will be available for check in after 2pm on the day of arrival and needs to be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. Any other arrangements will be subject to prior arrangement.
A local management agency is available to meet and greet you and to help with queries or any problems that may arise. They can also arrange an extra cot or highchair, or welcome food pack for a small extra fee. They can also advise on trips or book excursions for you as requested.
