The Algarve region
Luz voted best beach on algarve for chidren with rock pools one end. Lovely sandy bay. Excellent restaurants. The village origins dates back to Roman times and a small bath complex can been seen from the attractive esplanade. Closeby there are also very attractive rock formations in the sea which can be viewed from land or by small boats. Luz also has a small attractive church and a fort which dates back to 17th century and is now a restaurant. Luz is also on edge of conservation area. Also lots golf courses closeby There is plenty to see and do in the Algarve. Beautiful surfing beaches and wonderful stretches of sand. Lots of beaches hardly used and wonderful scenery. Lagos a 15th century town is closeby with a lovely esplanade and marina. Nice evening atmosphere with street performers etc and an unlimited choice of restaurants. Praia da Luz / Montinhos da Luz area
Luz is a lovely select family resort with a good selection of quality restaurants and has a beautiful safe beach with watersport facilities including watersport fun rides for children. Voted best beach on Algarve for children with rockpools one end. Small family supermarkets closeby. Burgau lovely little fishing village closeby. Beautiful cliffside walks from villa. Lots of countryside Close to conservation area. Lots of fantastic unspoiled surf beaches short drive away. Watersplash park about 20 minute drive. Lovely small zoo closeby. Lagos -lots of good restaurants and supermarkets. Lagos 2 miles east is a sophisticated 15th century town with large marina, beaches and lots of shops and restaurants. Lovely to stroll round in evening with street entertainment normally going on. Roman sites in Luz and closeby plus ruins of an old Moorish castle on cliffs just past Burgau. Beautiful scenery. Also evidence of of ancient burial sites closeby
How to get there
-Fly to faro from most airports. -You can book your flights and car together or alternatively we have a company www.luzcar.com who are very competitive and your car will be at the airport for you. -Should you not wish to drive from the airport then taxis are always available outside the airport Some of the Airlines that fly into Faro are British Airways,Monarch,Easyjet plus many more
