These two luxurious self contained apartments are set in a pleasant area adjacent to the golf course. Within a short drive are the beautiful historic towns of Obidos and Peniche where you will discover an abundance of seafood restaurants and quaint streets with local crafts. Caldas da Rainha is a very attractive shopping destination with pedestrian streets, a daily fruit and veg market, fish market and a fascinating Monday market. The coastline must be one of the most dramatic in Europe. The famous surfing beach of Baleal is a short drive away. And with an hours drive, you can reach Fatima, Alcobaca, Nazare, and to the south Area Branca. A list of interesting tours and our choice of restaurants is in the apartment.

The Costa de Prata/Silver Coast region
The Silver Coast is renowned for magnificent sandy beaches and rocky headlands. There are numerous fascinating coastal towns and villages linked with good roadways. Inland there is a great choice of interesting towns. Portuguese people are very friendly and helpful. They enjoy life. You can visit the local vineyards where wines can be tasted and purchased. This area has not been commercialised, and it enjoys a peaceful and safe holiday environment where you can discover villages which probalby don't even appear on the map and haven't changed in centuries.
Praia D'el Rey Golf and Country Club area
The historic town of Obidos was once the Capital of Portugal and features many magnificent churches and an aquaduct that brought water from the hills to the castle. It has generous free parking areas and a tourist information office where you can get the dates of the local festivals. Many of these are staged in Obidos especially the Vile Natal at the Christmas period. Praia d'El Rey has been voted No.1 golf resort in Europe for 2007 and the course is rated one of the best in Europe. Green fees can be purchased on the internet at a considerable discount.
How to get there
Fly to Lisbon and Praia d'El Rey is one hours drive north west, motorway virtually all the way. Car hire is essential and all popular hire firms operate from Lisbon airport. We can recommend a local car hire firm who have proved most convenient for us.

Further details indoors: There are spacious patios leading from the diningrooms/lounges and from three of the bedrooms. As the townhouse is facing south it gets the sun throughout the day and as there are patios on the front and back (which overlooks the golf course) there is always the choice of sun or shade which is often appreciated by our visitors. We also have two sofa beds. The apartment has central heating and a free standing fan. The bathrooms are fully tiled and have showers, toilets,bidets and wash hand basins. En suite has a heated towel rail. Garden furniture, chairs and tables to seat 10, two relaxer chairs and several folding relaxer chairs. These can be used round the pool area.
Further details outdoors: Praia d'El Rey is a beautifully maintained resort with pretty gardens and children's play areas. There is an adventure club for children up to 16 years of age which offers a wide variety of activities such as surfing, archery, orienteering, etc. There is a tennis academy, football pitch and basketball courts. The renowned Praia d'El Rey Golf course will challenge any player. There are magnificent Atlantic views around the course. The Mariott Hotel Spa offers all the usually high quality facilities including various massages and beauty treatments. Zanaibar is a themed late night club bar under the clubhouse. There are a couple of small shops on the resort, and the clubhouse has an excellent restaurent that offers 'carry out'.

The price for the complete townhouse is 1000euros/week for low season (1 April -30 June)and 1400 euros/week for high season(1 July - 31 August). 1April - 30 June is 695 euros for the 3 bed. apt. and 580 euros for the 2 bed apt. 1 July - 31 August is 995 euros for the 3 bed apt. and 800 euros for the 2 bed apt. 1 Sept. - 31 October is 695 euros for 3 bed apt. and 580 euros for the 2 bed apt. See chart for details of prices. We also have two sets of golf clubs which you are welcome to use. For these we ask for 100 euro returnable deposit. Sorry no pets. Please don't smoke inside there is plenty of room on the patios.
Conditions
A deposit of € 200 secures a booking. The balance must be paid 6 weeks in advance of arrival. Refundable breakage deposit of €100 to be paid to our agent on arrival and, if clubs are requested, the €100 refundable deposit for these is also to be paid to our agent on arrival.
