Our 3-bedroom apartment is modern, luxurious and well equipped in an excellent sunshine position with lovely views over the gardens and swimming pool. The apartment sleeps 6 + baby in a cot.

There are approximately 20 apartments in our condominium but you won't ever feel crowded or over-looked. Indeed, many of our guests will feel they have the gardens and pool to themselves such is the design of the resort.

Contemporary architecture and wonderful colours make the buildings blend beautifully into the natural environment, and the quality of the interiors is a match to the high standard of exterior finish.

Inside our apartment, you will enjoy lots of space with a large kitchen, spacious sitting/dining room and three well appointed double bedrooms, two of which can be arranged as twins. A cot can be made up on request (cot linen provided).

The Costa de Prata/Silver Coast region

Stretching from Lisbon to Fiqueira da Foz, Portugal’s Costa de Prata (Silver Coast) is a gem of largely undiscovered beauty and gets its name from the effect of the sun on the waves of the Atlantic Ocean.

Unlike its more famous and populous cousin in the south of the country here you can discover pretty villages and a real Portuguese way-of-life amongst stunning coastal scenery fringed with the best beaches in Europe.

Because much of this area of Portugal remains undiscovered by the mass tourism market you can guarantee a beach to yourself even in the height of the season if you are prepared to drive and walk a little way.

Like most of Portugal the Silver Coast comprises mainly small towns and villages. You will find the Portuguese people to be exceptionally friendly and visits to the many non-touristy destinations, which abound the area are immensely rewarding.

The region is temperate. In the summer months it can get up to the late twenties or more in the day so make sure you come prepared with sun protection. The evenings in the summer are usually very mild but sometimes there can be a slighltly cool breeze so it's always worth packing a lightweight pullover.

In the Autumn, Winter and Spring the daytime temperature is often very mild and when sunny can get warm enough to sunbathe. The evenings do cool down and so warmer clothes for night are recommended.


=== Lisbon ===

Lisbon is one of the most immediately likeable capitals in Europe. Located on the westernmost front of Continental Europe, its mosaic of terracotta roofed buildings cling both majestically and humbly to its seven hills. The Tejo River sweeps past the many character-rich districts which border it, carrying boats big and small and is straddled by two impressive bridges. Some ultra modern skyscrapers rise starkly out of the generally more low rise and higgledy-piggledy layout of buildings, reminding us that Lisboa is indeed a modern city.

However, what makes it attractive is the fact that, despite being very much a multicultural 21st century metropolis, Lisbon retains a foot in the past and a remarkably provincial feel. Small markets still abound, frequented by traditionally dressed women bearing their load on their head, wood-interiored trams still rattle up unfeasibly steep slopes and people from all walks of life chatter in unpretentious local bars and cafes.

There are also opportunities to sample surfing, wind sailing, hire bicycles, horse riding.

Sample mouth-watering local cuisine, in particular the seafood - accompanied of course, by the Region's excellent local wine. You will find eating out is both affordable and satisfying. The West Region truly has something for everyone.

There are regular flights to Lisbon and Porto airports. Journey time is under an hours drive from Lisbon and nearly 3 hours from Porto.

All our guests will receive a Welcome Pack providing essential groceries including beer and wine!

Please ask us if you require the cot to be made up for your arrival. We provide cot linen and also a potty, toddler step, high chair and change mat to help lighten your load.

We also have a CD player with tuner which can be connected to an ipod. Please bring your own connecting lead.

We also have a large selection of DVDs, books, some board games and toys. DVDs can also be rented from the Business Centre at Serra D'el Rey.

The kitchen also has a cafetiere, blender and all necessary cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. And the all essential large wine glasses too!

Further details outdoors:
The swimming pools and gardens are easily accessed from the ground floor apartment and children have lots of space to play. Please ensure that children using the pool are appropriately supervised.

French doors open from the living room directly on the terrace and the kitchen opens into the garden as well.

There are 2 steamer chairs (sunloungers), 4 patio chairs, 2 Director chairs and a patio table for you to use on the patio and in the gardens or by the pool.

Gardeners and pool cleaners make regular visits to keep everything looking very well maintained and tidy.

Further details

Saturday is preferred change over date but we are flexible out of season.

For stays longer than one week, extra cleaning will be done at 7-day intervals and towels are changed once in the middle of the week.

Towels are for use in the apartment only so please bring your own beach towels.

Our preferred changeover day is Saturday but we will always try to be flexible in accommodating your preferred dates.

"We had a lovely holiday. The weather was much better then at home, where it was snowing! The children did use the swimming pool although it was a little cold for that. We've seen a lot of the surroundings. Which is an excellent benefit of the location. You can do a lot of sight seeing or just walk along the beach and search for shells and that sort of thing. The girls were really delighted to see the lovely children's books in their room. We didn't read our own ones! They of course also loved the toys in the living room and the Winnie the Pooh DVD. The apartment was perfectly equipped."

"We had a wonderful holiday in Praia Del Rey. The apartment was beautiful and tastefully furnished. The three bedrooms are very spacious. Both the lounge and kitchen are excellently fitted out and bright. The situation is quiet and unspoilt, with the large swimming pool a real bonus. We found the site representative is very pleasant and helpful. The location of Praia Del Rey is tranquil anf idyllic and the weather is just right, being slightly cooler than Lisbon. One is easily able to find good restaurants in the near vicinity. The beach restaurant is partiqularly good. The locations of Caldas and the Lagoon are ideal places to visit. We shall be returning next year."

"We had a wonderful holiday. the weather was fine, not too hot and the apartment is great. The interior is absolutely beautiful and it really felt like home away from home. The boys spent ages in the pool and were delighted with the presence of a tv and video. " loved the resort and your apartment is just gorgeous, I love the interiors, beds and linen were great, very comfortable and glad to see you have throws on couch, I had my boys warned to have hands washed prior to sitting down! Our location was fab, we could see the kids from living area, bedroom and kitchen. You also have a great selection of books for adults. We will have no hesitation in recommending it to friends and family. Loved praia del rey and surrounding areas especially Obidos, Caldas and Foz. My kids enjoyed the tennis, first day was great only 8 of them, but next day there were about 17 kids and only 2 instructors so we opted then for 3 private lessons for matthew and stephen together. They really enjoyed the adventure club and did a day with them body boarding, kayaking etc, while mum got a day pass to Mariott Hotel and luxuriated down there. Great medieval festival in Obidos, fab for families.

"The most enjoyable aspects of our stay were the pool was just right for cooling down after being out and about in the car. The easy accessibility of the very interesting surrounding towns and villages was also brilliant. The fresh fruit and fish was also excellent (Supermarket Peaches will never taste the same again). David (nearly 16) enjoyed the clubhouse with some other teenagers who were in the next door apartment.

The resort is very well located for access to the surrounding sites which we explored thoroughly. The facilities in the apartment were excellent the stereo and dvd player were welcome."
