This holiday resort is just under an hours drive north of Lisbon, along the west coast of Portugal, known as the 'silver coast'. It is an area of protected and outstanding natural beauty. The medieval town of Obidos is approx 15 minutes away and must be top of the list to visit. A superb golf course set among pine forests and undulating sand dunes, with spectacular views over the Atlantic. Par 72 championship course rated 13th best in Europe, 2 miles of long sandy beach washed by the breathtaking Atlantic rollers. Plenty to do for all the family, including tennis, surfing at the fabulous baleal beach, sailing, etc etc.

The Costa de Prata/Silver Coast region
The Costa De Liboa Region is on the west coast of Portugal, known as the 'silver coast'. It is an area of protected and outstanding natural beauty, there is a 2 mile sandy beach at the resort washed by the breathtaking Atlantic rollers. The Resort of Praia D'El Rey has been awarded |Portugal's Leading Resort for 2008 at the World Travel Awards and shortlisted for Portugal's Best Golf Development in the 2008 Homes Overseas Awards. The resort is just under an hour's drive from Lisbon airport, situated on a dramatic coastline, a vast area of outstanding beauty.
Spend a day in Lisbon (recommend the open top bus ride approx 1 and half hours) The Alfama is one of the oldest quarters in Lisbon, surviving the earthquake of 1755 this area retains much of the original layout. Each year in June the streets come alive with feasts in honour of popular saints.
Just 15 minutes drive away from Praia D'El Rey you must visit the medieval town of Obidos, stroll through the cobbled streets and visit the open air theater, castle, shops and restaurants, or take a trip on a horse drawn carriage. Baleal Beach is also about 15 minutes drive and is famous for its terrific surfing beaches, where lessons are available for all ages. Even just sitting on the lovely beaches and watching is great fun.
The climate is a little cooler than southern Portugal and the summers seem to last all year round. Great off-peak months for golf are March/April and Sept/Oct/Nov.
Praia D'el Rey Golf and Country Club area
The walled medieval town of Obidos is the most beautiful and famous attraction of this region (suggest comfortable walking shoes as the narrow streets are cobbled and sometimes steep), in the evening the town becomes alive with little restaurants.
Baleal Beach is the most popular for surfers, an opportunity to both learn and improve your skills. Penich has boat trips, scuba diving and lots of fish restaurants. Caldas Da Rainha is the best place to go shopping in the local area, with street markets for fruit/veg etc. and high quality shops in the middle of town. Check out the shoes, you will be sure to buy some.
The lagoon is a must for families to let the little ones play on the beaches and gentle water fun. During summer holidays there is plenty going on at the resort for children - tennis and football academy, surfing, paint balling in the pine forests, bikes for hire at the Marriott hotel, pony rides etc. For any golfer you must play this truly brilliant course (one you will never forget).

The apartment is light, airy and well equipped, fully fitted kitchen, open plan living room/dining room with two double doors to suntrap terrace with outside table & chairs, sun loungers, BBQ, lawn and shared use of two pools. Sky TV, DVD & CD player, sofa bed for fifth guest if required, modern bathroom with bath and shower, separate second WC & wash hand basin, two double bedrooms - one with double bed and the other with twin beds, cot available, private parking to the front.
As this is our personal holiday home, we try to look after it and would ask that you do not smoke in the apartment.
Further details outdoors: Fabulous Modern Ground Floor Apartment in quiet cul de sac location, large terrace with sun all day and large garden area for BBQ, safe for children. Children's pool and larger pool. Sun beds & garden table and chairs. You can walk to all weather tennis courts, children's playground, golf club with restaurants & bars. Excellent food available for all the family at the golf club (eat inside or outside on large new terrace, all day meals).
The 5* Marriott Hotel is on site with gym, health centre, indoor and outdoor pools, bars and restaurants, internet access, cycle hire, activity club for children, pony rides etc etc.

Just got back from your beautiful villa in Portugal, we had fab time and could not have been more comfortable, you have thought of everything in the villa. We used the BBQ lots and really relaxed around the pool. Thanks for letting us stay we will be recommending it to friends and family.
Your house was superb and the neighbors asked for your details as they thought your bungalow was much nicer than their apartment. Desperate to return next year, so hope we manage to book before they pinch the best weeks. The thought you'd put into the place was very obvious and made for a perfect holiday.
