The Silver Coast is an area of unspoilt outstanding natural beauty. From the quiet sandy beaches and lagoons which offer many different watersports to the forests which offer cycling,horseriding and walking
The historic medieval towns of Obidos, Sinta, Mafra, Nazarre and Fatimma offers a wealth of history and architecture and the termal spas of Luso offers Roman ruins
Picturesque, charming and traditional villages are dotted through out this region as are the numerous championship golf courses.
The fishing port of Peniche offers not only some of the best fish restaurants in Portugal but also some of the finest surfing in Europe.
Bombarrel offers some of the finest vineyards and excellent valued wines.
The Praia D'el Rey Golf and Country Club area
Praia D'el Rey is a 5 star championship golf course and Beach Resort offering world class golf and beaches.
The club house is 3 mins walk from the villa and offers restaurants, bar, night club, under 17 disco and adventure club. There is a large practice ground and professionals who speak English It has a large terrace which looks over the course and has fabulous views out to the Atlantic.
There is also the 5* Marriott Beach & Golf Hotel situated on the beach and is a 5 min walk from the villa. The Marriott boasts fine dining restaurants, casual bars, pool side bar and the Atlantic Spa and salon.
The resort has tennis courts, football pitches and bikes to hire to explore the many pine forest trails.
Close by is the medieval walled town of Obidos with its narrow cobbled streets, lined with whitewashed houses and crowned by the Moorish Castle. The Obidos Lagoon offers sailing, windsurfing and relaxation by its tranquil waters.
Just off the coast is the Belenga Island which can be reached by boat from Peniche and offers diving and deep sea fishing in crystal clear waters.
Also near by is the town of Caldas de Rainha which is famous for its spa with its sulphurous pools, its daily fruit market, shopping facilities,parks and ceramics.
Praia D'el Rey is in an area rich in vineyards and orchards and the local wine is of very good quality
Only 50 mins away is Portugal's Capital City Lisbon which has a concentration of historical and cultural attractions and is the nations most cosmopolitan city by far
