1 day itinerary
If you have just one day in Prague (that’s a pity, but if you can’t do anything about it, at least something is better than anything, isn’t it?).
Start where the Royal Route starts, that is in front of the Municipal House and continue as follows
Celetna Street: Powder Tower (No.14 on the map), Municipal House, Old Town Square (No 11) Astronomical Clock (No 12) and the Church of Our Lady before the Tyn (No 13) Climb the Old town city hall Tower (No 12), at the Orloj (Astronomical Clock) Follow the Silver Line to the Charles Bridge through the narrow streets loaded with souvenir shops If you are really a fan of towers, climb the The Old Town Bridge Tower (No 8)and enjoy a nice view over the Charles Bridge and the banks of the Vltava up to the Castle Enjoy the nice walk through the Charles Bridge (No 7) and take a look at the Lesser Town Bridge Tower (No 6). At the Lesser Quarter visit the St. Nicholas Cathedral, the most representative Baroque construction in Prague (No 3) and the Church of our Lady Victorious (No 4), where is the Prague Infant Jesus. Stop on the Nerudova street for some nice Czech specialty for lunch, accompanied by the tasty Chech beer, Restart your itinerary with the way to the Prague Castle (No 1). explore the Prague Castle grounds: St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George Basilica and the Golden Lane. In case you are a fan of galleries and museums, visit some of the exhibitions at the Castle. If you’d rather remain in the nature, head towards the Summer Garden (open until six o’clock in the evening). Have a walk through the nice park with a nice view of the Lesser Town on your left. The cupola of St. Nicholas cathedral will dominate your view. In case you are already tired and you have booked tickets to the theatre or some evening concert, take the Old Castle stairs that will lead you to the Malostranska underground and tram station, or cross the bridge on foot and get back to your apartment to prepare for the evening. On your right you will have the Charles Bridge. At the end of the bridge you will see the Rudolfinum Concert Hall (No 9) and the oldest University in Central Europe, Charles University. You are back at the Old Town Square (No 11).

Taking in consideration you are on holiday and most likely you stayed out rather late the other night, I supposed the time of start for the second day trip rather later, say about 10-11am. Here are some things you shouldn’t miss:
Start at the Old Town Square and pay a visit to the Jewish Cemetery (Zidovsky Hribitov, No 10 on the map). After visiting the Jewish Quarter, find your way through the Old Town Square and Celtna to Wenceslas Square (Vaclavske namesti). Follow the sings directing to Vaclavske namesti, Narodni Muzeum (National Museum).In case you are already hungry, stop for a beer and lunch at one of the many restaurants in the Old Town. Have a walk through Wenceslas Square (Vaclavske namesti), dominated by the imposing site of the National Museum Main building. From the top of Wenceslas Square take the underground 2 stations to Vysehrad Vysehrad – follow the signs that will lead you first to St Martin Rotunda, then have a walk through the old Fortresses walls that will lead you to Slavin cemetery and Sts Peter and Paul Church. On the right side of the church you will have a nice view over Prague and the newly reopened areal from where you can see Libuse’s baths. Stop for a beer break and a snack at the beer terrace at Vysehrad Go along the tram lines towards Karlovo Namesti, on your way you will see the Emauzy, and from Charles Square (Karlovo namesti) go towards the Vltava river. You will pass by the Church Cyril and Methodej and at the bank of Vltava you will see the Dancing House. Walk along the Vltava bank and head towards the Charles Bridge. You will have a nice view of the Castle and the river. For the evening you can choose from a concert, a dinner in a chic restaurant, hanging out in a pub or just walk around the nicely lighted centre of the city.
3 days itinerary Contiunue from where we are left in the 2 days itinerary.
Start at the National Theatre (No 19) and walk across the Legions bridge towards Ujezd Stop a minute at the Memorial for the Victims of Communism and walk to the funicular Take the funicular to Petrin Hill, take a look at the nice park: walk through the rose park, towards the Mirror Labyrinth (Bludiste). Have some nice time in the funny reflections of yourself in the Mirror Room. Climb up the Observation Tower and enjoy a fabulous view of Prague, with the bank of Vltava, the Castle and Hradcany, the Lesser Quarter and the Charles Bridge. Walk to the Prague Castle. On your way you will pass by the Strahov Monastery and you will have a picturesque view of Petrin park and old Prague From the Strahov Monastery you will see the signs leading to Loreta Monastery. If interested in Churches in Baroque, it’s worth to pay it a visit. From there you can head towards the Prague Castle. If already tired, you could take a tram back to the centre (station “Prazsky Hrad” anebo “Pohorelec”), if not continue the itinerary: Stop before the main entrance at the Prague Castle and enjoy another fabulous view of Prague, this time from another side Explore the Pargue Castle grounds: St. Vitus Cathedral, the Golden Lane and head towards the Summer Garden (open until six o’clock in the evening). Have a walk through the nice park with a nice view of the Lesser Town on your left. Your view will be diminated by the red roofs of the Lesser Town and the cupola of St. Nicholas cathedral Climb down the Prague Castle stairs that will lead you to Nerudova Street Follow the signs (or the crowd) to the Charles Bridge and your tour with a nice dinner at one of the many pubs/restaurants in the centre. For a few extra crowns you could also spend a nice time dining at the terraces just opposite the well-known Astronomical Clock in the Old Town Square.
Prague / Vysocany area
Galeria Fenix offers shopping until 21.00 and food court open until 22.00 with a variety to satisfy any tastes. Alternatively pop into a metro and in 10 min you are in the centre. Night tram service is always on time if you are planning to extend your evening entertainment.
