The Bohemia / Prague area
The Czech Republic became independent in 1993 but has a very exciting history much longer back than that. With numerous castles and chateaux, showing the stories of powerful families and individuals who influenced not only the own nation but also well beyond. Unravel history of Bohemia and Moravia, the two ancient lands that now make up the modern Czech Republic.
Western Bohemia offers a number of attractive tourist sites; beautiful nature where the southwest part of the Krusny Mountains continues to the Sumava mountain range and discover folklore traditions in the district of Chodska. The spa lover will find the most famous Czech spas and the beer lover can go on a tour of the world renowned Plzen brewery.
Prague has warm, occasionally showery summers and cold, often snowy winters with generally changeable conditions. A typical day in Prague from June to August sees the mercury range from about 12° to 22°C.

Tourist attractions not to miss are:
Prague Castle and Hradcany. Prague Castle is the most popular sight visited in Prague. It is the largest ancient castle in the world. Allow at least half a day (it does not include time for museum visits) if you want to examine it in depth.
Prague Jewish Quarter (Josefov). Named after the eperor Josef II, whose reforms helped to ease living conditions for the Jewish, the Jewish Quarter contains the remains of Prague's former Jewish ghetto. There are two figures synonymous with this part of the city, Franz Kafka (1883 – 1924) and the mystical humunculus Golem created by Jehuda ben Bezalel, also known as Rabi Löw.
Prague Old Town. Mentioned in 1091, it is the oldest of the towns of Prague gained the privileges of a town in the 13th century. However, its name dates back to the 14th century when the New Town was founded. The centre of the Old Town has always been the Old Town Square dominated by the Church of Our Lady of Týn and the Town Hall.
While the city centre is a mélange of stunning architecture, from Gothic, Renaissance and baroque to neoclassical, art nouveau and cubist, beyond the medieval lanes of the Old Town and the Castle District, there’s an entire other cosmopolitan city to explore. Search out the riverside parks, lively bars and beer gardens, music clubs, museums and art galleries. Harness Prague’s excellent public-transport system to explore emerging suburbs such as Žižkov, Vinohrady, Smíchov and Holešovice. You’ll be guaranteed cheaper prices, a more local ambience, and an assured escape from any more feelings of doubt.
