Home description
This spacious 2 bedroomed village property has everything you need for a relaxing break away from it all. The recently renovated house is ideally located in the tranquil village of Estoher. The village is largely pedestrianised and practically traffic-free. It is ideally located for walking or cycling in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains or just as a base for touring the area. (It has easy access to the main road between Perpignan and Andorra which allows the surrounding area to be explored very easily by car).
It is situated between the two thriving market towns of Prades and Ille-sur-Tet which both have a wide wide choice of bars, restaurants and shops to visit. For beach-side relaxation, Vinca lake is located 4km towards Ille-sur-Tet and is an excellent alternative to the coast which is around 40 minutes drive.
The property is arranged over three floors and has been designed for the family or two couples who wish to holiday together but still retain their own privacy. On the top floor, there is a double bedroom with en-suite shower / w.c. This room has double doors opening onto a small balcony
The middle floor contains the living areas, consisting of the well equipped Kitchen / Dining room and the separate Sitting room. Both rooms are light and airy and have been furnished to a very high standard.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region
Languedoc-Roussillon is perfectly positioned between the Mediterranean to the east where the beautiful sandy beaches provide long days by the sea, and the Pyrenees to the west, which offer a wealth of walking and cycling opportunities, not to mention skiing in the winter!
This region is a delight; the Conflent valley provides lush green scenery, with Mount Canigou dominating the skyline and the Pyrenees visible in the distance. You can be swimming in the sea in the morning, and hiking in the mountains in the afternoon. There are even thermal hot springs, so if you would like to combine the two activities we can suggest a hike AND a swim in the mountains! It really does offer you everything!
There is a lake in the local town of Vinca, with beaches, from which you can swim, sail or wind-surf, or you could just visit the popular open air swimming pool in Prades.
Weather: We benefit from being in the sunniest region of France, and enjoy warm, sunny weather from March all the way through to October. November and December are cooler but still with sunshine. January, February and March are great skiing months (45 minute drive to the ski resorts).

Villefranche-de-Conflent (Walled medieval town) Grottes-des-Canalettes (Magnificent caves) Geology Museum at Vernet-les-Bains (Incredible collection of over 10,000 fossils and minerals) St.Martin-du-Canigou (an Abbey dating back to the 9th Century). Saint-Michel-de-Cuxa Benedictine monks have been here since 578. The Abbey is pre-Romanesque and the cloister (in pink marble) Romanesque. Concerts during the festival Pablo Casals at nearby Prades. Prieuré de Serrabona (literally, the Priory of the Good Mountain) Consecrated in 1151 and classified as a Monument Historique in 1838. Famous for its beautiful capitals in the cloister.

How to get there
Fly to Perpignan via the low-cost airlines - Ryanair, Flybe, bmibaby or Air France - Vinca is just 30 minutes from the airport.
- Alternatively fly to (in order of closeness) Girona (80 mins), Carcassonne (90 mins), Montpellier (2 hours), Nimes (150 mins), Barcelona (2.5 hours) or Toulouse (2.5 hours) using airlies Ryanair, Easyjet, FlyBe, British Airways or Air France.

Further details indoors: This house has been furnished to a very high standard. The sitting room is very comfortable with and has a TV (French channels) and DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, 2 ring hob, large fridge / freezer. The light bright sitting room has been tastefully furnished and also benefits from a TV, and DVD. The wood-burning stove offers a warm focal point for those who visit during the winter months. There is a washing machine in the laundry room.
Further details outdoors: Estoher is a fabulous village, with no through traffic at all, and in fact most of the roads are pedestrianised, making it very quiet and peaceful. You can walk from the house to the river and beyond, following several marked hiking routes up the mountain, and on to Canigou.
The village has a children's playground, boules court, church and several maintained village squares which have been beautifully planted to make them an excellent area to relax and have a chat with the other villagers.
