A very comfortable and pleasant experience. The villa was ample for 6 of us. The layout was ideal with the upstairs for my family and children, and downstairs for the grannies. The pool was a good size and despite a few days of rain, the mountain scenes make for a relaxed environment. I would recommend the caves, and a drive up into the mountain town verbet-les-bains, which is pretty. Avoid the park/zoo at Castille!! Unless you are very fit, the 2 mile hike up a mountain side to see goats was hard going in the heat. Although I cant fault the view at the end. The village of Fuilla has very limited resources, but only 3 miles down the road to the nearest bakery and village shop, just don't go during lunch time, they have traditional closing times. |

Have just spent a perfect two week holiday at Casa Nostra and returned home feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. The villa was furnished and equipped to an extremely high standard. Everything we wanted was there. The gardens were large with lots of seating and tables which was ideal for al fresco living. The views really were stunning and the villa was peaceful and tranquil. Lounging by the pool, surrounded by the most beautiful scenery was a fantastic way to relax. There were lots of lovely places to visit from the villa and the village of Fuilla wa delightful. The local bar/restaurant was friendly and welcoming and sold bread and croissants in the mornings. Heaven! If you're looking for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful villa, then Casa Nostra is the ideal choice! |

Guestbook for CASA NOSTRA
Chris & Laura - Warwickshire - September 2010
Casa Nostra was a fantastic Villa with modern but homely decor and was well equipped. The Villa and its location would provide a great base for families or couples and due to the vast amount to do in the area, it would easily appeal to every type of holiday wished for. The weather was consistently hot with a welcome breeze off the mountains. I would highly recommend a holiday at Casa Nostra - Enjoy.
Anouck & Family ( Belgium) 2010
Again we had a marvelous stay in Casa Nostra, it really felt almost like coming home.
We felt very much on ease and enjoyed the garden and the swimming pool.
New adventures by bike this year, really impressed again by the environment.
And we decided : we will come back !

"Fantastic break"
"We have just returned from a week at Casa Nostra.. It was just wonderful, a very well thought out home from home, so quiet, private and yet only a short drive from things to see and do. The pictures online are just as it is,,although better in the flesh.. You will need a car to get around the area, you could also be very content to just stay in the villa all day as well though. It has the added bonus of sky tv for evenings in. We did go out to eat a couple of times, The main town was very quiet in the evenings. Unlike many holiday towns the shops were shut up and many eateries closed, this may have been due to the time of year we went, although it was 28.8.10-4.9.10. So be prepared for this, Also many are shut on mondays. The area does have all you need with supermarkets in 10 min drive. These were shut on Sunday. So stock up Saturday to do Sundays and Mondays.
This is a great place for a holiday and would return very happily, Cathy was very kind and helpful in booking the villa for us and fantastic value for money as well."

For some of us it was our second year at Casa Nostra and familiarity added to the enjoyment as we again enjoyed the outstanding facilities of the house and pool, and the picturesque local countryside, plus revisiting the nearby bar/restaurants. The first timers in our party expressed delight in the house and its setting (plus surprise at the excellent quality of equipment and the service of the management team), and thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. There was everything we needed for two eleven year old girls to tyre themselves out around and in the pool, plus the restful sunloungers for the older members.

Casa Nostra is a beautiful house in a stunning location, with panoramic
views of the Pyrenees. It is the ideal location for a family holiday,
with lots to do near by--the lovely village of Villefranche de Conflent,
caves, the Train Jaune, and walks in the foothills of the mountains. The
house itself is beautifully appointed and very comfortable indeed, with
a superb pool and lovely gardens. This is certainly the very nicest
rental property I have stayed in.
The Haworth family (Cheshire and Edinburgh) 2010
We have been coming to France for nearly 30years and stayed insome lovely houses but Casa Nostra takes some beating.Location is wonderful with the secluded valley only minutes from Villefranche with all it's tourist facilities.Views from the house are spectacular---mountains in all directions. The house is very well equipped, everything we needed and more. All the family enjoyed the pool, especially the grandchildren.
Thank you Cathy and Steve for a super holiday in you beautiful house. Two weeks was just too short. Mike

"This is an excellent house to rent tastfully furnished and the pictures shown here are accurate. The facilities are also excellent and every item in the thoughtfully stocked kitchen are good quality and cover all occasions whether it be BBQ or meal indoors or outdoors. There are two excellent sized fridges. The mountain scenery is breathtaking but a car is essential for meals out although we did walk 30 minutes to a local village to have an anjoyable meal there. We found lots to do and a great supermarket only 15 minutes away. Its the best Gite we have rented over many years experience. We got excellent service from Mike and Penny who look after the place for the owners and booked us a wine tasting trip. Cathy the owner was very helpful when we had pre booking questions. Thanks.

We had a truly fantastic holiday. Casa Nostra is a delightful house and extremely well equipped. It was great to relax by the pool surrounded by awesome mountain views. We enjoyed the local villages of Villefranche, Vernet Les Bains and Sahorre, and travelling further afield to Collioure and Carcassone - plus the heady delights of the little Yellow Train as far as Mount Louis. Casa Nostra is an ideal holiday base, and we are already planning when we can go back again - we know there is so much more to explore in the area.
Thank you.

Just a quick note to thank you for the fantastic time we had at Casa Nostra.
The views from the lounge/dining room were amazing and it was a really comfortable place to relax with a glass of wine in the evening. The kitchen had everything you could ever need and it made preparing and eating a meal together a real joy.We also made good use of the pool and garden which had plenty of space either in or out of the sun.
Upton Family (Scotland.)
We had a fantastic family holiday. Casa Nostra was a lovely house, very well equipped and in a delightful location. It was great to stay in a quiet village and have mountain views all around. There was so much to do, within a very short distance from the house. We would recommend a drive to the rock pools at Sahorre, a drive up to Mantet (where we were amazed to see griffon vutures, short toed eagles and chamois) and a visit to the caves and the fortified city of Villefranche. There was also time to relax and enjoy the garden and pool, which was such a treat. It certainly made it an ideal holiday spot, catering for our whole family, even our teenage children are keen to go back again!
Thankyou.
