Home description
Situated in the vibrant small market town of Vinca, this beautiful Maison de Village, is just 40m from the heart of the historic medieval village, but is tucked away down a quiet street so as soon as you arrive you'll just have to relax ! The large rooftop terrace has spectacular views of the village rooftops and mountains beyond and is equipped with sun loungers and dining table and chairs for 6, so it's an ideal place to entertain friends in the warm summer evenings.
The living areas within the house are arranged over two floors. The lower floor is devoted to a cozy sitting / dining area with a fantastic woodburner for those winter and spring evenings. Slightly raised above this area is the kitchen area so it's a great place to prepare your meals and chat to friends at the same time.
Moving up to the next floor, the two bedrooms and bathroom can be found. Both bedrooms have windows overlooking the narrow street below and have plenty of storage space for all your holiday needs. One bedroom has a king size bed whilst the other has been equipped with a double sofa bed. The bathroom is shared between the two bedrooms and has the luxurious benefit of having a massage shower system to relax and unwind at the end of the day.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region
Languedoc-Roussillon is perfectly positioned between the Mediterranean to the east where the beautiful sandy beaches provide long days by the sea, and the Pyrenees to the west, which offer a wealth of walking and cycling opportunities, not to mention skiing in the winter!
This region is a delight; the Conflent valley provides lush green scenery, with Mount Canigou dominating the skyline and the Pyrenees visible in the distance. You can be swimming in the sea in the morning, and hiking in the mountains in the afternoon. There are even thermal hot springs, so if you would like to combine the two activities we can suggest a hike AND a swim in the mountains! It really does offer you everything!
For swiming, there is a lake in the village, with beaches, from which you can swim, sail or wind-surf, or you could just visit the popular open air swimming pool in Prades.
Weather: We benefit from being in the sunniest region of France, and enjoy warm, sunny weather from March all the way through to October. November and December are cooler but still with sunshine. January, February and March are great skiing months (65 minute drive to the ski resorts).
Prades / Vinca area
Nestled beneath Mount Canigou and on the edge of a large mountain water lake with beautiful soft sanded beachfront (used for swimming and sailing), Vinca is a charming market town that combines the charm of a French village with the convenience of having restaurants, shops, bars and cafés. It is extremely convenient for all the main towns and visitor attractions of the region and in addition to this it is only 20 minutes from the historic Catalan capital of Perpignan, 30 minutes from the coast (Canet Plage & St. Cyprien) and 50 minutes from the main ski resorts (Font Romeu & Les Angles).
It also has the great advantage that it has a train station just a few minute walk from the centre of the village, which means that it is an ideal place to just arrive by train, relax and unwind.

Guestbook for Vinca - Maison de Cerise
' We had a lovely holiday. The property was just right for us, and very well decorated & equipped. Vinca was a great little town - big enough to have all the facilities we needed, but small enough to have a really friendly feel. The train journey was nice and easy, and being based on a train line made visiting other places a piece of cake. Overall, we were very happy with the service you provided,Thanks ', G.G. July 2008 UK.
' What a wonderful time we spent in Vinca and especially in your cosy little house on Rue d’Esteve. I got so attached that I did not want to leave. Vinca was exactly the size town we were looking for; calm, old world, relaxed and charming people. We will recommend it highly! We danced in the village square under a full moon at the local fete and sampled the local delights of which there are many! Merci encore ', A.B - Aug 208 - Ireland
We really enjoyed our stay & found the house delightful - just what we needed. We would like to return to the area as we felt we barely touched the surface of things to do & see; so when time permits we will be back in touch. - JL - Sept 08 - UK
We had a wonderful time in and around Vinca. The house was ideal, very comfortable and in a great location. We found the locals really friendly and enjoyed a few great days out on the mountains. I will definitely look to return in the future. Look forward to returning soon. M.H - Oct 08 - UK
