Tucked away down a quiet street so as soon as you arrive you'll just have to relax! The large rooftop terrace has spectacular views of the village rooftops and mountains beyond and is equipped with sun loungers and dining table and chairs for 6, so it's an ideal place to entertain friends on warm summer evenings.

The living areas within the house are arranged over two floors. The lower floor is devoted to a cozy sitting / dining area with a fantastic wood-burner for those winter and spring evenings. Slightly raised above this area is the kitchen area so it's a great place to prepare your meals and chat to friends at the same time. The Languedoc-Roussillon region

Languedoc-Roussillon is perfectly positioned between the Mediterranean to the east where the beautiful sandy beaches provide long days by the sea, and the Pyrenees to the west, which offer a wealth of walking and cycling opportunities, not to mention skiing in the winter!

This region is a delight; the Conflent valley provides lush green scenery, with Mount Canigou dominating the skyline and the Pyrenees visible in the distance. You can be swimming in the sea in the morning, and hiking in the mountains in the afternoon. There are even thermal hot springs, so if you would like to combine the two activities we can suggest a hike AND a swim in the mountains! It really does offer you everything!

For swimming, there is a lake in the village, with beaches, from which you can swim, sail or wind-surf, or you could just visit the popular open air swimming pool in Prades.

Weather: We benefit from being in the sunniest region of France, and enjoy warm, sunny weather from March all the way through to October. November and December are cooler but still with sunshine. January, February and March are great skiing months (65 minute drive to the ski resorts).

Prades

Nestled beneath Mount Canigou and on the edge of a large mountain water lake with beautiful soft sanded beachfront (used for swimming and sailing), Vinca is a charming market town that combines the charm of a French village with the convenience of having restaurants, shops, bars and cafés. It is extremely convenient for all the main towns and visitor attractions of the region and in addition to this it is only 20 minutes from the historic Catalan capital of Perpignan, 30 minutes from the coast (Canet Plage & St. Cyprien) and 50 minutes from the main ski resorts (Font Romeu & Les Angles).

It also has the great advantage that it has a train station just a few minute walk from the centre of the village, which means that it is an ideal place to just arrive by train, relax and unwind.

Sites of interest in the surrounding area:

Villefranche-de-Conflent (Walled medieval town)

Grottes-des-Canalettes (Magnificent caves)

Geology Museum at Vernet-les-Bains (Incredible collection of over 10,000 fossils and minerals)

Saint-Michel-de-Cuxa Benedictine monks have been here since 578. The Abbey is pre-Romanesque and the cloister (in pink marble) Romanesque. Concerts during the festival Pablo Casals at nearby Prades.

Prieuré de Serrabona (literally, the Priory of the Good Mountain) Consecrated in 1151 and classified as a Monument Historique in 1838. Famous for its beautiful capitals in the cloister.

"Fantastic Property"

My wife and I loved this property, it was an ideal location for us visiting family, it was very clean, and tidy, the property had all the comforts of home, but the icing on the cake is the roof terrace, where I have to say has the most amazing views over the village, it has everything you would need for a relaxing break, books, games, local information leaflets, bicycles, the local bar / cafe, shops, chemist are all but a two minute walk from the property, I cannot rate this property highly enough, I would stay there anytime.
the only negative point for the property is the narrow stair leading to roof terrace, but when there, wow!
