The "House of the old church" is part of the history of Furnas: why is nearby the beautiful church of Santa Ana, built in 1760, at the site of one of the oldest shrines in the island, destroyed by the eruption of 1630; because it was school, the pastor's residence and housing, until it was acquired in 1995 and recovered in 2011. Its central location, but demure, for greater tranquility, allows quick access to cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, CTT stations and the PSP, pharmacy, Bank or bakery. Above all, the House is almost next door, a few less 3 minutes walk, Terra Nostra Park, one of the finest botanical parks in the world (so qualified by the magazine Condé Nast Travel); of Poça da Beija (5 minute walk), a natural pool of thermal water; and 10 minutes walk, along a wide tree-lined Avenue, the boilers, emblematic of local hydrological richness and thermal island. Not far away, the 6 km, in the parish of Ribeira Quente, lies the beach of fire with its warm waters heated by the fumaroles and 11 miles is the village of Village, the county seat. The Furnas golf course with 18 holes, is one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world and is only 5 minutes from the House.The "House of the old church" offers fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining room, 3 bedrooms, two with double bed and one with two single beds, two bathrooms (one with access through the garden) and a pleasant garden with endemic plants, fully walled, perfect for children to play safely. All rooms are heated and in the living room you can relax to the sound of the crackling of the salamander.
