Weather and climate: Whatever the season, the British weather is liable to change from day to day, so bring lots of layers.
Spring (March-May): Early spring is usually cold but can be accompanied by blue skies, while mid-spring can often be wet, with average temperatures between 6-10C. May however, can bring blazing sunshine, up to 18C.
Summer (June-August): most days in summer are warm, but evenings can be cool. Temperatures average 14-20C, although it can be up to around 32C on some days.
Autumn (September-November): Early autumn can be very warm but the tail end can be cold and wet. Temperatures fluctuate around the 7-14C mark.
Winter (December-early March): Winter sees Britain's shortest and coldest days (about 7-8 hours of daylight) but these can be crisp and bright. Temperatures are liable to fluctuate around the 1-5C mark.
Poulton-Le-Fylde area
The historic market town of Poulton-le-Fylde home to this wonderful cottage has, along with its villages, plenty to offer visitors. For great walking routes follow the River Wyre and Lancaster Canal into the country. Plus the ever popular tourist resort of Blackpool is right on your doorstep.

Visit the Forest of Bowland an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - rural countryside that includes the famous landmark Pendle Hill. Forest of Bowland offers plenty of opportunity for quiet enjoyment such as walking, cycling, fishing and horse riding.
Explore the trail of the Pendle Witches, the Pendle Way and the Pennine Cycleway, into Bronte Country and the magical hamlet of Wycoller. Situated in the heart of England's North West, it is accessible by three airports (Blackpool International Airport, Manchester Airport, and Liverpool John Lennon Airport) and is serviced by a superb rail and road network.
There are reliable bus links within the area, which are also available from the surrounding counties. Plus there are ferry services to and from Ireland and Ilse of Man.
