Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Dating back to 1810 in the oldest part, Ivy Cottage is cosy with plenty of character. Through the entrance porch is the living room with open fire, and beyond that the kitchen/dining room with inglenook and wood-burning stove. A door from the kitchen leads into the garden, with patio area near the house, lawn, and a well-equipped summer house (and 'Wendy House' for youngsters).
The bathroom has a traditional Victorian suite with a roll top bath (it is worth noting that the bath is not very large, and taller guests may need to watch their heads as they move around the beamed cottage) The bathroom does not have a stand-up shower. The water pressure is not very high as the water tank is at ground floor level. The bath/shower is the one thing in the cottage that we hope to upgrade in the next couple of years, but for the moment I am afraid it is rather basic.
Stairs lead to two spacious bedrooms, one with a double bed and the second with twin beds.
Wi-fi broadband. Storage heaters.
There is off-road parking on the driveway.
Ivy Cottage is located just a few minutes walk from the well-known 'Potter Heigham bridge' on the River Thurne, from where one can hire a boat to get access to this part of the Norfolk Broads.
A short drive takes one to Winterton and other coastal villages. Sandy beaches flanked with dunes. Seals can be regularly seen along this stretch of coast.

About this location
The East Anglia region
Norfolk is a wonderfully unspoilt corner of the UK. It is popular with sailors, walkers, birdwatchers and all who love being out in the open.
The Norfolk coastline and Broads are much loved holiday destinations for those who prefer the quieter life.
From Ivy Cottage one is able to explore the East Norfolk coast which is just a few miles away, and also the Norfolk Broads. These are ideally enjoyed from the water, and there are plenty of local companies that will hire boats by the day or week. You will find some details in the cottage.
