The East Coast region
An idyllic luxury villa located less than a minute away from the beautiful white sand beach at Poste Lafayette. This part if the coastline is widely considered to be an area of outstanding natural beauty. The world famous Le Prince Maurice and Le Saint Geran are also situated nearby- playgrounds of the rich and famous. A coast of exquisite coves and emerald lagoons with a perfect year round climate.
Life goes on at different paces, between the fishing community, the local holiday maker and the professionalism at the top hotels of the island. The off shore island of Ile aux Cerfs is a paradise for water sports and has the most beautiful beach in Mauritius. You cannot afford to miss this tiny island, delicately poised on the ocean, a real pearl in the Mauritian landscape.The white sand beach at Belle Mare offers long stretches of public beaches.
It is ideal for the enjoyment of the warm Mauritian waters and for peaceful strolls. The nearby village of Flacq is one of the most important villages in Mauritius and boasts one of the largest open-air markets. Market day is a colourful event which attracts a large number of locals and tourists.
The Grand River South East waterfalls offers one of the regions most spectacular sights. Visitors and locals enjoy navigating along the mouth of the river, swimming or diving under the waterfall or having a picnic on the riverbanks. Outings can be organised with several local operators from the village of Trou D'eau Douce. The east coast is also far more exclusive than the mass tourism regions of Grand Baie and Flic en Flac.
The region offers a number of idyllic beaches for those who prefer the tranquility of basking in the sun on a tranquil beach. However, for those who prefer the more active beach life, the local hotels offer every water sport and activity imaginable.
Golf lovers will also be spoily in the region with three 18 hole championship course includind the spectacular courses at Ile aux Cerfs and the recently opened Anahita World Class Sanctuary at Grand River South East.
There is also no shortage of places to dine and Mauritius is a haven for lovers of good food. There are several excellent local restaurants along the east coast offering a wide variety of local specialities including Chinese, Indian, Creole and European dishes.
Poste Lafayette area
Located very near to the beach at Poste Lafayette, the villa offers access to all parts of the island with a good local road network. There are a number of local shops within a few minutes by car from the villa and the nearest main village is Flacq where you will find plenty of supermarkets, open air market twice weekly, banks, pharmacies and other shops.
Nearby are also a number of top hotels including Le Prince Maurice, Saint Geran, Belle Mare Plage and Le Touessrok where you can use a number of facilities including the bars, restaurants, spas or diving centres.
There are a number of excellent restaurants nearby including Maison d'ete which offers a Creole menu and delicious local pizzas, Chez Manuel - the best Chinese restaurant in Mauritius and Le Four a Chaud in Trou d'eau Douce offering excellent local seafood.
How to get there
Air Mauritius offers daily non-stop flights from Heathrow until October 27 when the service drops back to five flights a week through to December 11.
British Airways flies three times a week from Heathrow and Virgin Atlantic flies launches twice weekly from Heathrow in October. Emirates offers four flights a week to Mauritius from Dubai with connections from Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow. Air France has a daily option via Paris with good UK regional connections.
Upon arrival into Mauritius at Plaisance Airport, the distance is around 30kms to the villa which takes approximately 1 hour to 1hour 15 minutes by car.

Further details indoors: The villa comes fully staffed with maid, cook, gardener and night watchman. Our staff are available to look after your every need from private airport transfers and suitcase unpacking through to grocery shopping, cooking, laundry and ironing leaving you free to relax and enjoy your holiday. Included in the rental are crisp white bed linen, beach towels, pool towels, cool boxes as well as every other home comfort.
The main outdoor terraces are furnished with large and comfortable wicker sofas and armchairs. The main terrace also offers an eating area and the terrace overlooks the pool to one side and the tropical garden to the other. The living space is large and open plan with relaxing large and comfortable sofas to unwind, watch TV or listen to some relaxing music.
There are plenty of books to enjoy as well as satellite TV with English and French channels, DVD player and CD. There is also a separate reading room/office where you can use the telephone or the internet connection. The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, gas hob and electric oven, toaster, kettle, microwave, juicer and plenty of cutlery, crockery and utensils. The ground floor shower room offers a WC and walk in shower.
On the first floor, there are two good sized double bedrooms and one twin bedroom. The master bedroom has a terrace with lovely views f the pool and the garden. There is also plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space to house all your holiday essentials. All bedrooms have aircon which is essential in the summer.
The other two bedrooms are tastefully furnished with a combination of bamboo beds and wooden furniture. There is plenty of storage space in all bedrooms. The main family bathroom also has plenty of storage space and a walk in shower with a separate wc.
The villa is also totally baby friendly with high chair, cot and baby sitting available on request.
Further details outdoors: The house is accessed through a main private gate and there is a night watchman from 6pm to 6am everyday. The villa is located in a tropical garden of over an acre with a plethora of local flora and fauna.
The area around the pool is ideal for sunbathing and you can relax on the sun loungers complete with comfortable thick cushions and complimentary pool towels. Georges, the gardener looks after the pool and it is cleaned on a daily basis.
There is also a small children's pool for a youngest guests.
The garden also offers plenty of space for barbecues and you can ask Georges to help you too!
