The location of Mare apartment is in the our villa in the heart of Positano, between the beaches and the entrance to the town, making it possible to reach either one either on foot or by the local bus that stops 30 meters from our home.

The gate of the house is reached by climbing an 18-step stairway. You can reach the bus stop on foot 30 meters from the house, and you can park your car 100 meters away in a pay parking lot. You can reach nearby shops at 150 meters; four grocery shops at 200 meters; 5 restaurants at 150 meters; laundry, newspapers, hairdresser at 50 meters; café-bar at 50 meters.

This is something not to be missed! Climbing down the steps, passing by the most visited places by tourists, you will discover and unveil enchanting angles of Positano, and then, once you have visited all the little streets by foot, you can always go back up by the local shuttle bus!

Positano

The Amalfi Coast, Italy

The Amalfi Coast is a beautiful 50 kilometres' stretch of mountainous coastline situated between the Sorrento peninsula and Salerno, just south of Naples, in the region of Campania.

The coastline is dotted with small picturesque villages and towns stacked precariously on steep rocky cliffs plunging into the Mediterranean Sea.

The famous islands of Capri and Ischia are nearby, both of stunning natural beauty.

The Amalfi Coast has been one of Italy's major tourist attractions for decades. It is regarded by many as one of the world's most beautiful stretches of coast.

Today tourism is the main industry, and the area has numerous luxury hotels and a wide selection of restaurants, bars, craft shops, boutiques, boat trips, and more.

For those who like to drive, one of the highlights of a trip to this area is the romantic coastal road itself.

The narrow serpentine road clings to the coastal cliffs, soaring and plunging and winding around the towering cliffs that fall sheer into the sea. By car or bus, this road offers dramatic and breathtaking scenery.

At some places it is so narrow that two vehicles can hardly pass and have to back up to yield way to each other. National Geographic says of the Amalfi Coast:

"The coastline around Amalfi is quite simply breathtaking. Cliffs plunge steeply into the azure sea with picturesque villages perched on their rocky sides, some of which until recently, were only accessible by boat. The views out across the Mediterranean Sea are stunning and this piece of coastline can quite rightly justify its claim to be one of the most scenic stretches in the world.” (National Geographic)

POSITANO

Positano is known as one of the most beautiful jewels of the Amalfi Coast.

Positano was a relatively poor fishing village during the first half of the 20th century.

It began to attract large numbers of tourists in the 1950s, especially after John Steinbeck published his essay about Positano in Harper's Bazaar in May, 1953.

"Positano bites deep", Steinbeck wrote. "It is a dream place that isn't quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone." Its enchanting position, the beautiful houses and narrow streets exude Mediterranean harmony and charm. Beloved by artists from everywhere, it has enchanting views, shopping and strolls by the sea. Its wonderful boutiques have made Positano fashion internationally renowned.
