Villa Los Morales
About the home
This extraordinary house is located in a estate planted with orange trees (2.500m2). We get here by going up the soft mountains at the North of Posadas village (2km) known as la Sierrezuela. We have to take Villaviciosa road which accompanies us along our way with views to a valley scattered with country houses. This road takes us to the path which goes to the estate, a path planted with fruit trees at both sides which belong to the different estates.
A swimming pool and a well cared for grass welcome us to the property. It has a covered porch with many garden tables to enjoy the relaxed and calm atmosphere. Opposite the house and next to the swimming pool there is a covered barbecue, apart from a kitchen, a fridge and an oven to enjoy our holidays outdoors.
In the interior the living room surprises us due to its large dimensions where there is space for all the family or group of friends. It is well equipped with a fireplace and heating for winter and air conditioning for summer. The kitchen, fully equipped, is open to the living room with a singles bar. There are five comfortable bedrooms equipped with taste and quality furniture, all with mosquito nests on the windows; one of them has air conditioning and air heating which are also in the corridor to let the cold and heat get to the rest of the rooms.

The Andalucia / Cordoba Province region

Cordoba, the capital city, is in the middle of the province. It sprawls over both banks of the River Guadalquivir and is the setting for three cultures: Moorish, Jew and Christian.
The city of Cordoba is one of the most popular due to its historical legacy and heritage. The old town has been declared a World Heritage site.
About 5 km from the capital city you can visit the remains of the Medina Azahara or Madinat al-Zahra, a court city built on the orders of Caliph Abd al-Rahman III to become the capital of the Caliphate, the royal residence and seat of government. As legend goes, it was his favourite, called Zahra, who suggested he build this beautiful city, hence its name.
Cordoba, formerly the capital of the Muslim Spain, is the most important city of a territory located in the Herat of Andalucia geography. The Guadalquivir , which becomes stagnant in the middle of its course, comes across this province from the east to the west, fertilizing the plains where cereals, grapevines and olive trees are cultivated.
To the North, the countryside becomes frizzy, reaching the furthest tops of Sierra Morena, with an overcrowded wood and an intensive hunting activity.
To the South, the countryside goes up to the mountains of the Subbetica range. The olive groves and the elegant white villages with a well-preserved Baroque architecture extend all over these calcareous fields.
The mountainous landscape gives shelter to a varied fauna.
The province of Cordoba houses the traces of its Iberian, Roman and Muslim past. Indeed, it possesses an impressive monumental heritage and a tradition as rich as its gastronomy, which has been remarkably fomented with the purpose of retrieving the varied recipes of the traditional cooking.
The Posadas area
In Posadas you will find restaurants and bars with traditional tastes of the regional cuisine and good wines; Las Posadas del Rey Meson Restaurant are a good example. At the foot of a mountain we find La Sierrezuela Park which has barbecues and picnic areas. We can take a walk or do horse riding routes. In Posadas you will find all the services (shops, restaurants, doctor and chemist’s)
Located to the East of Cordoba province, Posadas is 32km away from this city and in this village we can visit La Morería quarter, the town council, Santa Maria de la Flores church (built in the XVI century on an ancient medieval castle) and Jesus Nazareno Chapel (a XVIII century baroque temple). The North of the village is part of Hornachuelos Natural Park and it is a compulsory visit for nature lovers. Some important colonies of Griffon vulture and golden eagle, foxes and lynxes live here. Due to its good preservation as Mediterranean forest there is plenty of hunting.
You can also visit the most emblematic cities of Andalusia: Sevilla (1 hour 30 min. by car) and Granada and Malaga (2 hours by car).
Posadas, a roadside village that arose on the banks of the Guadalquivir, along the old route between Cordoba and Seville, the name of Posadas [inns] evokes the locality's history in the hostel and inn sector, which survives today in the welcoming and open character of it inhabitants.
Broken only by the medieval tower, now the belfry of the parish church, the horizontal line of white-washed houses is set within a gentle meander of the Guadalquivir. This village is located in the west of the province, next to the N-431 road. Distance from Córdoba: 32 km.
