Home description
This property is ideally situated for a range of holidays. The property has open plan living areas on both floors, with views over Portstewart Strand towards Castle Rock and Donegal headlands.
Only a five minutes walk from the house is one of Northern Ireland’s finest and most popular Blue Flag beaches. Portstewart Strand is two miles of beautifully golden sandy beach, which is suitable for a wide range of activities - from bathing and swimming, to horse riding, dog walking, windsurfing and jet skiing. At the end of the Strand is the Barmouth, where the River Bann enters the sea; from here you can look across the river to Castlerock Golf Course and Donegal headlands in the distance.
The property is a short five minute stroll along the scenic coastal path to Portstewart promenade and the town itself. Here you will find a number of shops, bars, restaurants, ice cream parlours, coffee shops, and a small harbour. For more extensive shopping Coleraine is only a 10 minute drive from Portstewart.
The Causeway Coast is a perfect location if you are on a golfing holiday. Portstewart Golf Club has three 18 hole golf courses. The Strand Course is one of the best links courses in Ireland, and only 3 miles away, is the spectacular Royal Portrush and Dunluce golf courses. Royal Portrush, an Open course, is widely believed to be one of the best tests of links golf in the world. In the opposite direction, Castlerock Golf Club is less than half an hour away, by car, and again is another terrific links experience.
Portstewart considered by many to be the most picturesque town on the Causeway Coast route has a number of attractive coastal towns and villages as its neighbours. These include Portrush, Castlerock, Portballintrae, Ballycastle and Bushmills (world famous for its Whiskey Distillery).
Other local attractions include White Park Bay, the Giants Causeway- which is the only World Heritage Site in Northern Ireland -, Dunluce Castle, Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge, Ballintoy Harbour and The Glens of Antrim. This only a few of the many beautiful places worth a visit, and all of them are only a short drive away.
