The County Derry region
Portstewart is situated on the breathtaking coast of Northern Ireland. Oceans 14 looks out on the rolling waves of the Atlantic Ocean. From the Promenade you can see the roiling hills of Donegal with rocky cliffs and headlands. The Harbour is a working fishing port and boat trips along the coast are well worth wrapping up for!
There are a host of tourist attractions such as the Mussenden Temple located in the beautiful surroundings of Downhill Demesne near Castlerock. It perches dramatically on a 120 ft cliff top, high above the Atlantic Ocean, offering spectacular views westwards over Downhill Strand towards Magilligan Point and County Donegal and to the east Castlerock beach towards Portstewart, Portrush and Fair Head.
The Causeway Coast Way, an exhilarating walking route following the dramatic north Ulster coastline goes from Portstewart to Ballycastle along a Designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty over sandy beaches, rocky bays, high cliffs, seaside resorts and small fishing villages.
The Flowerfield Centre is central to Portstewart's flourishing arts and cultural scene along with numerous art galleries and music festivals. Jimmy Kennedy who also wrote ‘Teddy Bear’s Picnic’ penned ‘Red Sails in the Sunset’ overlooking Portstewart Bay. The annual festival to commemorate the song is a highlight of the summer season. This year it takes place at Portstewart Crescent from Sun 22rd July to Sat 28th July.
The Crescent offers lots for kids and families with play pools and rides, a bandstand and tiered seating. From there it's a bracing route around the magnificent Cliff Walk leading to Portstewart Strand – perfect for surfing, diving and other water sports.
Portstewart Strand is 2 miles of gorgeous white sand and dunes with rolling surf and is a blue flag award winning beach. There is also a way-marked nature trial.
If golf is your passion you'll find some of the best in the Triangle area. The 2012 Irish Open will be held at the nearby Royal Portrush in June and every year in May the North West 200 Road Race attracts motor cycle fans from across Europe.
Portstewart is a short drive from Ireland’s only UNESCO world heritage site – the Giant’s Causeway – well worth a visit and you might just see Finn Mc Cool.

"Good base, but lots of stairs"
This wasn't the unit advertised and we got a larger unit on the top, however this required lots of lifting. the unit also was two story with bedroom upstairs and bathroom downstairs. The space was good but some of our group really struggled with the amount of stairs
Thank you for your review and very I'm sorry you found the 2 flights of stairs up to the Pacific Apartment a bit of a challenge. Had I known this was an issue I wouldn't have upgraded your party to this larger apartment. I only did so to ensure both couples would have a double bed. Although I have hopefully made it clear on Holiday Lettings that the Pacific is really not suitable for people with mobility/fitness issues or very young children because of the stairs, I will amend the description to make it clearer that the Pacific is on the second floor. Hopefully the comfy sofas in the living room provided a bit of respite before making it up the internal stair case to the bedrooms!
