The Central Southern England region

Hampshire has lots to offer as a holiday destination with its many beaches, beautiful countryside in the New Forest, and has many places of interest including museums, Marwell Zoo, Paultons Park and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

The Isle of Wight is a short ferry journey across the Solent.

We are located in the beautiful area of The Solent where a 5-10 minute walk brings you to the beach where you can view all the yachts and the Isle of Wight. The area offers visitors a variety of natural, historical and naval attractions, as well as beautiful coastal walks.

We are located just a few minutes from Portsmouth, withvery good restaurants and bars at the vibrant waterfront Gunwharf Quays, and the historical Dockyard where you can visit The Warrior and Nelson's famous ship The Victory.

A superb network of public transport includes a foot passenger ferry from Gosport to Portsmouth (a 5-minute journey), and regular train and bus services ensuring easy access to all areas and a car is not essential.

You can choose two beaches whilst on holiday here. Stokes Bay Beach with its unspoilt coastline, wine bar and bistro and wonderful views.. very famous for sunbathing, sailing and windsurfing. Lee on Solent Beach is located a ten minute drive from the property, offering a variety of restaurants with many jetskiers and kite surfers enjoying the facilities available.

"Perfect Hen House!"

Thanks Evelyn for a great stay for my daughters Hen party - everything went according to plan from the Friday night - Hunk in Trunks, Chinese take away and hot tub party, Saturdays Where's Wally Treasure Hunt, Rib Boats, Dodge Ball Tournament and dancing at Gunwharf Quays through to the survivors Sunday Lunch in the sunshine overlooking the sea!

Thank you for all your recommendations and for the perfect house for 21 hens! Everyone loved the house and garden - lovely big rooms, proper beds for everyone - lots of bathrooms with lashings of hot water - and really well equipped with everything we needed for the weekend and easy to get everywhere by walking or taxis and the people of Gosport were so welcoming.

Cannot recommend 1908 Lodge enough!

"Perfect weekend away from it all"

A group of 15 of us stayed in the 1908 Lodge for a long weekend. The weather was stunning and we were able to make full use of the huge garden and hot tub. The house was really spacious with plenty of bathrooms for everyone. The only downside was the small kitchen but we managed to persuade the local fish and chip shop to deliver, so problem solved. Lulu's cafe at the end of the road is fab too. Evelyn was really helpful in arranging our spa day at Miracles, and the shopping trip across the water rounded the weekend off perfectly. Overall, great value for money.

"The best hen party venue and a genuinely great house"

We stayed in the 1908 Lodge for a hen party in May 2013. Evelyn was incredibly helpful at every stage of the booking and also kindly waited for our grocery delivery when we were delayed on the check-in day. We were a group of 18 hens with two dogs and everything was perfectly set up for us. Even when we were missing some kitchen implements, Evelyn helped us source them from the next-door property. The kitchen and dining room were well-set up for catering for big groups and all the bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and exceptionally clean. The garden and hot tub were an added extra bonus. We had a great weekend and I'd highly recommend the property!

"Perfect Hen House!"

We stayed at 1908 Lodge over the May bank holiday weekend for a hen weekend. There was a group of 12 ladies ranging in age from 22 to 66 and this house suited everyone PREFECTLY!

When looking for a large house to accomadate us our big issue was not bed sharing and having enough bathrooms. This house provided us with a single bed for everyone and an ensuite bathroom to each of the 5 bedrooms we use (2 additional bedrooms without ensuite were availible but we didn't use these).

The house is very well presented and in very neat and tidy order. Perfect for big groups with enough seats at the table, room on sofas and garden furniture to fit us all in. Everyone was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was very well equipped with lots of extras we didn't expect.

I HIGHLY recommend this place for large groups it was ideal!
