Home description

Linden House features an ideal location situated in the pretty residential area of Alverstoke with the unspoilt Stokes Bay Beach just five minutes from the apartment. The Town Centre is a short walk where a 5 minute ferry provides access to the vibrant Gunwharf Quays at Portsmouth, with its excellent waterfront restaurants, bars and shops. Portsmouth is the home of the The Spinnaker Tower and Historical Dockyard where you can visit Nelson’s famous ship The Victory.

Guests are welcome to bring their own bicycles to explore the area on as there is a cycle shed at the property for your use, and the property is next to a cycle track that leads down to the beach. The Isle of Wight is less than 15 minutes from Gosport where on the Fast Cat ferry cycles go free!

The accommodation is finished to a high standard comprising a light and airy bedroom overlooking the garden benefitting from a dual aspect, a spacious living room with two sofas, dining room table and chairs, Wi-Fi, Flat screen TV, Freeview, DVD player and music system, kitchen and shower room.

The ground floor apartment at Linden House was formerly part of a large Victorian house, but has been refurbished to provide modern living with period features, and is fully self contained with its own private entrance.

A pretty south facing courtyard garden just for your use is the secret of this lovely accommodation, where you can take pleasure from the seclusion and privacy and enjoy your complimentary wine and chocolates we provide as part of our warm welcome. A sun lounger, table and chairs are provided for your use in the garden.

Stokes Bay Beach is popular for sunbathing, sailing and windsurfiing and enjoys amazing views of The Solent and the Isle of Wight.

The Central Southern England / Hampshire region

Hampshire is a popular holiday area, with tourist attractions including its many seaside resorts, the maritime area in Portsmouth, and the motor museum at Beaulieu. The New Forest National Park lies within the borders, as does a large area of the South Downs, which is also scheduled to become a National Park. Hampshire has a long maritime history and two of England's largest ports lie on its coast. The county is famed as home of the writers Jane Austen and Charles Dickens.

Hampshire has a milder climate than most areas of the British Isles, being in the far south with the climate stabilising effect of the sea, but protected against the more extreme weather of the Atlantic coast.


Portsmouth / Gosport area

Linden House is just a few minutes away from Stokes Bay Beach with wonderful views of the Isle of Wight and a popular place for bathing, sailing and windsurfing, and is also home to Stokes Bay Sailing Club and Stokes Bay Angling Club.

The Bay has historic features including Fort Gilkicker and was the site for launching a large force for the D-Day landings, which is commemorated here.

We are located in the beautiful area of The Solent where a few minutes walk from the property brings you to the beach where you can view all the yachts and the Isle of Wight. The area offers visitors a variety of natural, historical and naval attractions, as well as beautiful coastal walks.

We are able to arrange for rib rides and sailing days on The Solent, which is a great way of exploring what the area has to offer.
