The railway station is just 5 minute walk away.

Gunwharf Keys with its fabulous marina is 10 minutes drive away, or is just 5 minutes by rail. Gunwharf with its designer shops and restaurants, casino and a bowling alley and multiplex cinema is a must visit for all holidays.

Southsea beach and pier are 12 mins walk from the property. The area is flat and suitable for walking and cycling.

The home is situated a residential area with lovely traditional pubs and restaurants nearby and several takeaways for those easy suppers. The property has a patio style garden area which has new garden furniture.

The Central Southern England / Hampshire region

OLYMPICS - for anyone with tickets for the games, we are 2 hours away from the Olympic village in London and 90 minutes from the yachting in Weymouth. This would be the perfect place to combine this with a beach holiday.

Southsea is the hidden gem on the South Coast. it is the only town in UK with a full hovercraft service.

The facilities here are excellent and it is not as crowded or as expensive, as other better known seaside towns. It has everything you would expect from a seaside, good beach, a pier, amusements. Also fishing and watersports facilities.

There is lots for children including a boating lake, a free natural history museum. The Pyramids leisure pool is great fun with its slides and wave machine. For the adults there are plenty of shops traditional and modern pubs and bars restaurants and several nightclubs.

The huge Southsea common is right next to the seafront. It is the venue for many events throughout the summer, many of which are free. Southsea boasts some interesting history. We have the DDay museum here and Southsea castle, built by King Henry VIII.

The New Forest is a short drive away as are several other interesting sights along the South Coast. Winchester and Chicester are a short distance away and they are excellent for a day trip.

The Portsmouth / Southsea area

For the lovers of history and culture there is Old Portsmouth with it's quaint old houses, city ramparts, museum and The Warrior, a 19th century naval ship. Inside the dockyard is Nelson's flagship, the Victory and Henry VIII's ship, the Mary Rose, along with several naval museums. At Gunwharf there is shopping, eating, drinking and the famous Spinnaker Tower from where you can see for 23 miles all the way round!

At the August bank holiday there is the world famous kite festival which attracts people from all over the world and lasts the entire weekend. Great fun for adults and children alike. The climate in Southsea is better than in many parts of the UK with lots of sunshine.
