Its not only history thought as 10 miles from Portreath in the well known artists town of St Ives is the new Tate Gallery which is well worth a visit. Add to this the Eden project, the World largest Biomes where more than 1,000,000 plants can be fround from all over the world you will always have somewhere to go if the weather doesnt allow lazing on the beach!
Portreath area
The small harbour town of Portreath is almost a paradise within a paradise. Surrounded by a wooded valley lies a golden sand beach and a small fishing harbour. Walkers and cyclists can take one of the many paths in the woods to along the coast and surfers and beach lovers can enjoy the sandy beach, rock pools and Atlantic surf. An abundance of sealife can be found as well as numerous bird specief the explorer. A man-made swimming pool can be found in the middle of the small reef near the harbour wall at low tides which is cleaned twice daily by the sea. If your more into night life then a bus takes you to and from the bustling town of Newquay on Friday and Saturday nights up until 2am which can be caught outside the village shop. The main golf course can be found within walking distance at the top of the valley at Tehidy woods where you may also stumble across the tennis court nestled in the woods.
