Teapot Cottage
About the home
Teapot Cottage is a stone-built end of terrace property, built in 1895 and tastefully renovated and extended by its current owners. Original features retained within the property include exposed beams, Victorian open fireplace, Cornish Range (decorative only) and polished wood floors upstairs, while modern additions include gas central heating, fitted kitchen and bathroom.
The property is situated less than 10 minutes level walk away from Portreath beach, and comprises a small entrance hall leading to the main living room, a separate dining room, kitchen, 1 double bedroom (with double bed) 1 double bedroom (with twin beds) and 1 single bedroom (with single bed), and bathroom with toilet, washbasin and bath with shower over.
Outside to the rear is an enclosed garden with small lawn, flowerbeds and 2 patio areas that in summer catch the sun from early morning until the sunsets. A patio table and 4 chairs are provided on each patio during the summer months that enable guests to enjoy any meal from breakfast to supper, or simply to enjoy a few drinks and nibbles while reflecting on the day’s adventures.
Maximum occupancy is 5 persons plus we have a travel cot for a small guest. There is public parking on the road to the front of the property and also in the cul-de-sac to the rear. Shops and pubs are within 800 metres level walk.
Although a car is recommended, it is not essential, as a regular bus service to Truro, Redruth (nearest main line railway connection) and Penzance stops within 20 metres of the cottage.

Enquire nowThe West Country / Cornwall region
Said to be one of the UK's most beautiful counties, Cornwall boasts long stunning beaches as well as sheltered and secluded coves, moors, woods, rivers, streams and a strong mining heritage.
It is also the home of the world renowned Eden Project, the Tate Modern at St Ives and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
The Portreath area
Portreath is a small resort of historical interest with an easily accessible beach and a narrow harbour, located about 5 miles north of the old mining centre of Redruth. It was once a busy port, importing coal and exporting copper but now only sheltering the occasional fishing boat.
Set within a picturesque valley of woods, streams and rural meadow-land, the pretty, sandy beach is a popular family beach with lifeguards on duty throughout the summer months. Like many beaches on the north Cornish coast, it is popular with surfers and in particular body-boarders. Wetsuits and boards can be hired locally within the village.
There are several shops (including One-Stop, Post Office, Newsagents and Bakery), cafés and three public houses in Portreath, as well as a very fine Cantonese take-away restaurant. The village has a very friendly atmosphere and caters for most needs of tourists, whilst not being over-commercialised.
This is good walking country, with the South West Coastal Path passing through the village. Enjoy beautiful views from the spectacular cliffs, or meander along the leafy paths of Tehidy Country Park about 1 mile away, one of the many woodland walks that extend inland.
For cyclists, the mineral tramway, which transported copper and tin from the inland mines to Portreath's tiny harbour, is now a footpath and cycleway connecting Portreath to Devoran near the south coast.
There are various sports and leisure facilities within a short drive of the village. These include indoor swimming pools, squash, badminton and outdoor bowls. There are six local golf courses, one within a mile, and several centres for horse riding, two with indoor facilities.
